Hi there!! So sorry for the immense delay! Finals week is the wildest time of the year, but I’m trying to stay more active :D That being said, I am so SO glad that you like my studyblr!! <3 <3 It really makes me so happy to hear that!
Here are some study tips that I really stick by:
Do homework when you’re truly able to focus. This semester, I learned that I get way too exhausted to do homework in the evening, just given the nature of my schedule. But I did see that I get twice as much work done in just an hour way early in the morning (like 6am) than I ever could at 7pm. So do whatever works for you, even if it sounds weird!
Type notes at home but handwrite class notes. I’ve found this method to be very efficient for a whole bunch of reasons. But mainly, the chapters I get assigned for homework tend to be suuuuper long and handwriting just takes forever when I’m constantly pausing to read a section. That’s why typing stuff up helps more (plus the notes look prettier/there’s more ways of organizing info into tables and graphs). Class notes tend to be a nice summary of chapter outlines, so handwriting those notes really help reinforce those key facts.
Break your work up into meaningful chunks. So as an example, if you have to write a lab report, then do the introduction one day, then the methods section another day, the results on the third day, and so forth. And when you work on those sections, try to do the whole section in one sitting, rather than breaking the content into chunks within those individual sections. I say this because it just makes the writing process a lot more difficult since your thought processes would become very fragmented.
Believe in the power of naps! For days when I have an insane amount of work and no real time to spare, I always try to squeeze in like a half hour nap in between. I think this block of time is a nice amount that doesn’t feel too short of a nap, but is short enough to really add that quick boost of productivity.
Always take notes on the margins of your papers (if you’re allowed to write on them). I took two theory classes this semester and the readings were insanely brutal, like in terms of content length and the style of language. That’s why skimming through them or not reading actively wouldn’t help at all. To navigate through this problem, summarizing and jotting down key terms beside chunks of paragraphs really did the trick. Plus these notes help a lot more than general notes taken in a notebook when it comes to essay outlining/writing.

[X] school goal [work on at least one assignment every day, minimum of 30 minutes -- worked on my article analysis sheet so that was met.]
