i 100000% agree number one was an orphan, I feel like he was really young he managed to solve a really difficult case (whether it was like something angsty like why he in the orphan in the first place that spiraled into a bigger case or if it was someone else's case) and the WDO then was like "woah smart ass kid" and they yoinked him up and raised him in the WDO as a detective from a really young age

(did this have several detrimental affects on number one? Yes. Does number one feel like he never had a proper childhood beacause of it? Also yes.)
