The heart tree was one of the banes of Tamyra’s existence on the South Beach. There has been several, and they’ve only been here a little while, she didn’t want to know just how many more would pop up in the future.
The way its fire existed inside the tree, the way nothing actually worked to put it out, the heartbeat early in the morning when the morning sunlight shone through. She hated every single bit of it. And now people told her that on the night that all attunement shifted, the Northern Light Copy wasn’t the only thing it happened, but the heart tree also burst into flame and then just stopped. As if nothing happened.
She hated it so. fucking. much.
But it also gave her hope. The heart tree had to be the key to it all. The attunements could be switched back and she could have her water back if she just solved the mysteries of the heart tree or its fire.
“If the fire inside has anything to do with it, I couldn’t figure it out. And I tried to put it out before, I tried everything I could, so if the fire inside has something to do with the attunements, why didn’t mine change up before, you know?” she explained her way of thinking to Lily, who joined her not too long ago.
“But that night-- the entire tree was burning. That must mean something, right?” She didn’t say it outright, but she was intently looking up at the tree, it wasn’t hard to figure out what her plans were.
