I think Charles, like any father, would do anything to keep his child happy and safe (it does imply that he’s a loving and overprotective father) maybe when the incidents started happening he got a little more overprotective of lily, unless maybe that’s just me

I personally see Lily as like Charles comfort source, he’d do anything to keep her happy, which I’m sure he was hyping her birthday party for. But yeah, when the disappearances start happening, I think he really juggles with concern over his friends and his daughter. Maybe bringing her less to the building, cause maybe Charles suspected something…I dunno…

My personal headcanon about how Charles is as a father is that he's generally the goofy dad that lets Lily get away with maybe more than she should, but this comes into very sharp contrast with Emily's parenting style, which was a lot stricter and authoritarian. So it was basically a cycle of Charles letting Lily do something, Emily tells Lily she can't do that, Lily says that dad said it was okay, and then an argument ensues. Thankfully they realized that this sort of environment wasn't healthy to raise a kid in and divorced on generally good terms. In my AU there was still a little awkwardness in Charles and Emily's relationship, but they were determined to make it work up until Charles got moidahed

Ooo that’s so smart I never thought of it like that… it makes sense, he gives off the nerdy, goofy dad vibe. I think once describe as the fun uncle to the Walten’s? But I could be misinterpreting things…And it would make sense if they contrasted, or just felt distant which is how I saw it before thinking about this now... I think it was also said that if Charles was given the chance, he’d go back with Emily, which is so sweet. But yk, he got bon’d in the end, unfortunately.
