I was today years old when I learned about HGSS's shiny leaves. I don't think I'd ever heard of that before, and it's honestly so fun to be a longtime Pokemon fan and still learn new things about older games.
i don't blame you!! from what i understand, it involves taking pokemon of specific natures to specific routes, and talking to them while standing in tall grass - so the chances of collecting even one shiny leaf during casual gameplay is pretty rare!!
it's a shame it never returned in future games. it'd be really cute to see what your pokemon would actually look like if it wore the crown!
Honestly it would be really funny if Browt ended up being our quadruped by turning into a griffin or something. At this point though I care less about how the starters stand and more what their typings end up as.
That's a much more sensible approach. Entirely possible, too, I think it would be cool.
But yeah, the typings are an interesting question. I think it's fair to say that no one wants monotype, or Fire/Fighting. It'd be nice to get some interesting types in here, ideally ones never seen on starters. Which I think, if memory serves, are Normal, Ice, Electric, Bug, Rock, and Dragon. If I could have a say:
Water/Ice could be interesting on Gecqua if it's fast and specially offensive, would be nice to get a solid Ice type for once.
...I actually can't think of anything too interesting for the other two actually. Maybe this isn't the time for new type combos for starters after all.
You find these babies in a leaf tent
One of them offers you tea
What do you do
By all means, gush to your heart's content, I love what you've written with him so far. Also just realized that it was a Cross-Genre class, not mixed media. Been a long time since I took that class I guess, haha
AH thank you! I’ve been having a lot of fun with it. He’s just such a god-tier character in Fate, and way more interesting and sympathetic than I had any idea historically. Homeboy was first arrested for stealing food as a teenager after his mom died of tuberculosis and their step dad abandoned him and his little brother. Ended up dead at 21 because a former friend who hunted him down obsessively enough to give Javert a run for his money tracked him down and shot him in cold blood instead of arresting when he hesitated to shoot the person he saw waiting in his room without knowing who it was. It’s like WILD. It reads like a really depressing historical novel. Homeboy was Irish too, back when being Irish got you all kinds of hatred in the US, so I’m sure that was fun.
And he’s just so fun in Go. I’m gonna try to hunt down ancient screenshots from the America arc back in the first storyline, because every gd line of dialogue was insanely goood. I was so sad to finish last arc. My boy...
Be sure to give those unicorns an extra big ass kicking, those guys are jerks

Don't worry, we're more than happy to mess up Bill's plans and/or murder him whenever we can. We'll be on the lookout.
That’s the spirit, haha!
One way or another.
