What if the hats in Howl's moving castle represented a certain mindset?
Sophie kept to her plain and simple straw hat despite the variety of pretty hats she makes at the shop. Perhaps the way she held on to the hat was a depiction of how she held on to the belief that she herself was plain. Towards the end of the movie, she finally took on a new hat, also possibly a symbol of her new self confidence.
The witch of wastes has a huge extravagant hat which was jet black in color, which also kinda depicts her huge personality. Her minions all wear the same hat as well when they were following her orders to go after howl in the beginning. Possibly showing how all the minions are programmed to think the same way.
I also think that characters without hats such as Howl could mean that they are open minded. This guy just let's a random old lady, former witch, enemy's dog stay with him. How much more open minded can you get?
It's only human to feel but when you feel too much too fast... you're highly sensitive
and sometimes that sucks
Signed up for a mandarin brush lettering class today. The goal is to be able to quote Jay Chou's lyrics in my journals in an aesthetic manner
菊花台 Chrysathymum flower bed
Here's to starting a new hobby. Never thought I'd be writing down Jay Chou song lyrics even after high school but here I am. I guess we just become more ourselves as we age. The brush lettering is a vast improvement from my usual scratchy hand writing, hoping to one day improve to a point where I can be proud of my penmanship.
If I were a cat
If I were a cat, I could casually walk up to you and demand you to love me and feed me.
If I were a cat, I could tell you that I liked you by purring and rubbing against you.
Just think of how easy things would be if only I were a cat.
