question for Julian's ghost what are his thoughts and feelings over missing the kick-off of armed struggle?
question for Da-Rae whats a time she was afraid of Faust? alt: are future-twitter users allowed to write self-insert threesome smut about her if we do it on a locked account??
quick q for Lin Wei how and where did he grow up?
These are EXTREMELY GOOD QUESTIONS thank you for sending these! I'm going to make a separate post for the first question 2 because I love it alot and the response I have planned for it is pretty long.
Question 1:
He's not really bothered by the fact that he died like a few weeks before the actual revolutionary war began because in his perspective it's genuinely all the same as if it happened decades or centuries after his death
Question 2 alt:
She does have in mind the specific scenarios of "Counter revolutionary" = her having sex with any empire military officers or David Sokolov of the Faustians and "Defamatory of deceased comrades" = porn featuring Faust where shes doing something illicit or having sex with a man. She is mostly stumped by this one because she sees herself as very boring and kind of ugly subconsciously due to having scars and being older so she doesn't get why anybody would be writing that
Question 3:
I decided he's being kind of standoffish because while this is a normal question and he has rehearsed a way to answer it without giving away his real identity, he doesn't know who you are so he's immediately assuming you're an empire citizen so he's just already pissed off. (Also human-like aliens don't exist in this setting at this time but of course theres like Animals so thats why he's specifying "populated with humans")
I was going to explain this in the tags of that post but it really quickly turned into a wall of text so like quick explainer on where some of the space communists are at with homophobia
Faust: Was the way she was because she was from a very homophobic world and was never in community with other LGBT people, kind of just formed all her takes with no input from anyone else due to not having anyone else to talk to. Progressive by her worlds standards but definitely stood out when around other gay people who were involved in a LGBT community basically anywhere
Da-Rae: From a rural area on a world where being LGBT wasn't seen as a Bad thing necessarily but not "normal". She really didn't know alot about it beyond that she didn't judge anyone for it and chose to educate herself after realizing she was working with a pretty limited mindset. Is bisexual and is aware of this but doesn't identify as gay herself because in her perspective it "doesn't count" if she hasn't actually ever had a relationship with a woman. Keeps saying she gets it when Lin Wei tries to tell her that's ridiculous and then says she's straight the next time her sexuality comes up anyway
Wei: Gay man from a city with a thriving LGBT culture, most progressive of the communist party leaders on this stuff by far. Feminist, transfeminist, trans ally. Against marriage and the integration of patriarchal familial structures into gay culture. His husband is not as radical as he is on this stuff which is why he calls him his husband when he's around but sticks with "boyfriend" and "life partner" when he's not listening. Often laments falling in love with a guy who considers himself to be nonpolitical, his husband often laments falling in love with a communist guerilla fighter, theres some conflict sometimes,
Julian: Trans man from a world where being trans is heavily medicalized to the point where it's not seen as a part of the gay community at all. Theres kind of alot going on with his personal perspective on himself because of this but basically he's someone who had a really regressive take on being trans and then one day the Cosmoists held a vote on what their official stance on it all was going to be, "Should we see being trans as a way that some people just are or is it a illness that must be diagnosed", he voted illness and then lost and now holds the party line and has since genuinely come around to a more progressive view on things as well. So similarly to Da-Rae he's someone who actively had to educate himself because he wasn't in community naturally but also came in with a Bad Take because he was put through the torture labyrinth himself and hadn't fully grasped the issues with it yet
Ive decided that Da-Rae and Lin are officially Friends and it did happen over the course of them like first meeting via their parties beginning to work together and then them slowly realizing they have alot in common and they genuinely like each other. But I do feel like the two of them being like Heads Of Their Parties first kind of gets in the way of it being a incredibly deep friendship, like they'll tell each other alot but Lin doesn't tell Rae his real name or show his face until the revolutions won and Rae still considers Faust the only real friend she ever had post-death of her planet. But for the two of them they're besties and it's incredibly annoying for everyone else when all the anti empire parties are doing a group call and Lin and Rae are backing each other up and supporting each others bits
Ok doing more incomprehensible posting about my oc's. Heres a image I think goes around on communist space twitter during the height of the Militancy For The Liberation of Colonized Worlds attacks on empire areas of colonized worlds
Ok Im posting about my oc's real quick. Heres a crop of this Lin doodle WIP to justify it.
So Lin's vibe is that he's viewed as a aggressive extremist by pretty much everyone outside his party because he's pretty dedicated to the militancy's goal of Destruction Of The Empire and sees discussing anything else with people outside his party as a distraction. He's known to get into arguments with other communists constantly and the Communauts are basically the only people willing to work with the militancy as a result. He thinks this is good because it shows who's really serious about revolution, everybody else thinks he's kind of shooting his party in the foot by being a stubborn asshole. In his defense though, the general consensus on the militancy as a party is pretty shitty and its common for people within the empire (both communists and non-communists alike) to dismiss them as irrelevant due to being made up of people from colonized worlds despite being the second largest commie party in the galaxy.
Inside the party though, he is seen as a very kind Father To His Men type. Pretty much everybody in the militancy has some kind of insane story about a time Lin personally helped them through some horrible time in their life and they're always telling them to people outside the party who then turn around and see Lin turning the mic in his helmet on and declaring that this room is filled with revisionist stooges so hes LEAVING
