11 Questions Meme
Ooo! I’ve actually been WAITING for this, because I never come up with questions on the fly, so I’ve been compiling questions as I think of them, and I think I have some good ones. (Okay, I have three good ones.)
I was tagged by hedgehogandotter.
1. How do you take your coffee? Or other morning beverage if coffee’s not your thing?
I take my coffee with so much ice, sugar, and flavoring, that it ceases to be coffee and instead becomes mocha frappuccino. I actually had a song about mocha frappuccinos when I was in college. (It was a very stupid song that involved me singing “Mocha Frappuccino” over and over and over, and was used mostly to annoy other people.)
I do like tea in the mornings when I’m not feeling well – honey and lemon, on account of not feeling well. I also like tea with milk and sugar, but I have to be in the mood for it. Or in England.
2. If you could body swap with someone for a week, with no lasting consequences, who would it be? What would you do?
Well, jeez, what’s the point if there’s no lasting consequences? If I’m going to body-swap with someone, I want to actually get something out of the experience. At the moment, I’d kind of like to body-swap with someone who has access to a really fantastic research library, so I can look up all those details for the Medieval Omegaverse fic currently in beta. Or maybe someone who writes dystopias, because I need to pick their brains on that issue, as well.
Ooo! Could I bodyswap with someone who works in a kitchen? Because I bet I could learn loads. That would be fascinating.
(Actually, I think I dreamed last night that I body-swapped with my son, because I was attending his school and going to class in his place. And he woke up briefly calling for me, so maybe he dreamed he’d body-swapped with me, too.)
3. You can spend a day with someone no longer living, who is it and why?
My grandmother. I never asked the right questions when she was alive because I was young and stupid, and I’d like the chance to ask them now.
4. Where’s your ideal place to live – city or country or something in between?
In between. I like having lots of space and green and trees and birds, and quiet – but I also like having access to all the conveniences of a city, and shops and movies and activities. Actually, where we live now is pretty close to the ideal, though it would be nice to have better access to specialty grocery stores. (The nearest Asian or kosher groceries are over an hour away.)
5. Who’s your favorite actress?
Hmm. Haven’t thought about this before. I like Amy Adams in just about everything I’ve seen her in. I like Scarlett Johannson; she has really good answers to questions in interviews. Anything with Allison Janney makes me very happy (but I pay no attention to what she’s doing so it’s always a surprise when I see her name in the credits).
6. Are you a day person or a night person?
Day, mostly.
7. Rec some fics!
Fic-reading as slowed as of late. At the moment I’m reading If You Can’t Move Heaven, Raise Hell by splix, which is very good. I’m also going to throw gyzym’s History, Repeating Itself out there because it is just wonderful.
And two that aren’t Sherlock: I’ve been utterly obsessed with: gyzym’s Inception fic, I’ve Got Nothing to Do Today But Smile, even though I only saw the movie once and wasn’t that fond of it. She’s just that awesome a writer. I also loved A Logical Progression by cloudyjenn, which is Charles/Erik mpreg X-Men, because I am a sad individual who loves it when men get knocked up, and even more when it’s also sappy romance.
8. Rec some tumblr bloggers!
I’m terrible at this, because I actually pay very little attention to who is on my dash, in that I can never remember who reblogged what. I’m in it for the pretty.
9. Rec some movies!
All I watch anymore are movies my son can watch. But I can tell you that I’m quite fond of the third Madagascar movie, and the second Kung Fu Panda movie.
10. Rec some TV shows or some music!
Someone else needs to watch Selfie with me because I need to figure out if it’s actually good or just mildly entertaining. I can’t decide.
11. Rec some more questions to ask because I can’t think of any more!
FUNNY, I HAVE ELEVEN OF THEM.
My questions:
1. What kitchen tool is your favorite?
2. If I was only going to read one book/fic for the rest of my life, what book/fic should it be? (If you are a writer, you can make this trickier and tell me which of your books/fics I should read.)
3. What figure in history do you feel sorry for, and why?
4. What store would you work at purely for the employee discount?
5. Current reading material (either fic or non):
6. You wake up at 3am. It’s raining. The cat is meowing to go outside. What do you do? (Bonus points if your first answer is not “Wonder when I got a cat.”)
7. Describe the view from your window.
8. Other than this meme, what was the last thing you wrote?
9. If you were going to cook dinner with me, what would you want to cook?
10. What’s your favorite type of candy to get at Halloween?
11. Teenagers show up at your door wearing a Halloween costume. To candy, or not to candy?
As usual, tagging the last eleven people to like/reblog/comment on something I posted. In light of the fact that for some reason, that Johncroft post seems to have exploded the last few days, though (seriously, nearly 200 likes/reblogs in the last 24 hours, I have NO IDEA why), I’m going to ignore all action happening there. @epott11, kassna, cinzia667, @misellepasser, @lindathehobbit, @marta-beauty, auntiesuze, @your-auntie-grizelda, antietamfalls, hello-leeanne123, transformativetidbits, nwfairy, @tardis-stowaway
