Ling Tosite Sigure

is seriously such a fucking awesome band. 

From Psycho Pass, I got introduced to these guys. At first, as a dumb highschooler, I didn’t really dig the song “Abnormalize” they did for the first OP of the anime (hell, I even preferred that cheesy “CAUSE I FEEEEEEL” song by Nothing’s Carved in Stone, lol). But fast forward 5-ish years later to 2017, I became a dumb college sophomore. I started listening to genres like post-hardcore, post-rock and other geeky stuff. And when I discovered these guys again by chance, BOY did I really fall in love with their style, the songs they make, everything. Everything really hits my genre/aesthetic points. 

At first I thought post-hardcore was overrun by teen-hormone bands like Sleeping with Sirens or Pierce The Veil and whatnot, so I’m really glad to know that LTS have taken that sound to a more serious, technically complex direction. I love all the abrupt pauses, noodly guitar licks, the insane drumming, as well as everything in between. This is it. This will be the only thing I care about for the next few weeks. 

As an added note, I tried to look for interviews/video recordings of the band outside of the stage, and from the ones I’ve seen, I’m glad to know they get along like good friends. Pierre (drummer) is such a clown, in contrast to 345/Miyoko (bass, voc2)’s shyness and TK (guitar, voc1)’s chill/calmness. It really does warm my heart to see bands work less like “professional entities” and more like close pals, or something like that, lol.
