#1 Time and Malon. That man deserves a happy simple life.
#2 Legend and Ravio. Just thinking about them makes me want to squeel.
#3 Warriors and Twilight. Warlight has got to be my favourite Link-ship.
#4 Wild and Zelda. And #5 Sky and Zelda
As far as I can see from the games I have played, they are the only two games where Link and Zelda have actual/implied romantic relationships. And I love them both. I love how cute Sky and Zelda are. And I love the evolution of Wild and his Zelda's relationship.
#6 Also Midna and Twilight. Just because I'm playing their game atm and honestly there's so much storytelling that goes into the two of them working together.
Summary: In which after getting a bad case of food poisoning Twilight helps Wild out.
Wild winced when his gut made a rather distressing gurgling noise, and he brought his fist to his lips to muffle the hiccup that bubbled up.
Giving a soft huff he glanced down at his stomach briefly with narrow eyes. His hand going to rest on it for a moment.
It’s active, annoyingly so, with loud gurgles and groans occasionally coming from it as the organ burbles in an attempt to digest its most recent meal.
Then again maybe it was the fact that the meal had been less a meal and more so an experiment, with Wild tossing a few seemingly ‘edible’ things into a pot and hoping for the best.
Honestly considering he was only just getting a hang of life in general it was a miracle that he’d gotten as far as he did without some food-related mishap up until this point.
His stomach gives another harsh gurgling noise that has him swallowing thickly, closing his eyes again when he feels the furious burbling of his stomach beneath his hand.
Wild shifts in his makeshift bed, he’d made a small temporary camp for the night inside of an abandoned cave and although he hadn’t meant to stay here long when he began to feel strange he realized something was off.
Eventually, he’d gotten so dizzy and nauseous that he’d attempted to lay down and sleep it off which then led to his current predicament.
Lying on a pile of hay alongside a bed roll, curled up into a ball as if that would stop his stomach’s attempts to tear its way out of him.
Wild’s stomach was in agony truthfully, feeling tight and bloated against the hand he rubbed over in some desperate attempt to find relief.
As a loud rumbling burp slipped from his lips Link couldn’t help but notice the almost sour tinge tainting the overly warm saliva lazily seeping into his mouth.
Perhaps the meat had been a little off? Or the milk maybe? Honestly Wild didn’t know but something in the ‘stew’ he’d made had been spoiled and now he was paying the price for it.
As if to remind him of his mistake his stomach made a loud glorping sloshing noise as the contents of his stomach seemed to practically roll over in his belly.
Wild curls further into a ball, his stomach feeling too tight and far too full as if he swallowed an octo balloon that refused to shrink.
As another gurgling belch rumbled up his throat Wild couldn’t help the whimper that followed.
When would it end? He’d never make the mistake of trying his luck with food again if this was what he was going to endure.
Pain sure he could deal with, dizziness occasionally sure, the mixture of dizziness and nausea so violent that he felt as if he’d faint if he stood up no thank you.
Wild cracks his eyes open slightly when he feels something cold and wet nudging his cheek. Despite the fact that he should technically be on guard considering his current predicament, there were monsters roaming freely and he was a sitting duck, he couldn’t help the smile that weakly twitched at his lips when he saw a pair of blue eyes staring back at him in concern.
“Hey…Twi,” he manages the words heavily strained and he thinks he sees Twilight’s snout twitch into a scowl.
Then again whenever he was in the form of a wolf while expressive he couldn’t exactly emote as he could when in his human form.
Wild groans closing his eyes when the walls of the cave seem to spin and swirl in a nauseating fashion causing his stomach to slosh furiously,
He feels his stomach lurch slightly beneath his hand, and can’t really bother stopping the soft muffled yet empty gag he gives behind closed lips.
Wild thinks he’s shivering honestly, he’s not sure far, far too focused on attempting to ride the waves of nausea in an attempt to find some sort of reprieve.
Wild is far too out of it to notice Twilight changing back to his human form, only registering the other’s presence again when he feels familiar calloused hands on him.
“Wild, can ya hear me,” Twilight asked as he felt the other’s forehead with a scowl, noting that Wild’s skin felt clammy and slightly warmer than usual.
Twilight is not surprised when the only answer he gets in response is a low nauseated pitiful groan that turns into a wet, almost sloppy hiccup at the end.
“Tried to tell ya it smelt off,” he murmured as he reached out again to gather Wild in his arms considering the other was so out of it he was nearly delirious.
Wild does register hands on him and for a brief moment he feels a jolt of panic shatter through the dizzying nausea clouding his mind and swirling in his gut.
He opens his eyes a bit only to quickly close them when the world feels as if it flips. “Wha…” he tries to begin slowly.
Twilight scowled as he slowly walked outside of the cave carrying Wild in his arms. He takes a few steps away from the entrance of the cave making sure he was on dirt before kneeling down.
Twilight is careful as he moves, especially considering Wild’s stomach was so volatile at the moment sounding like a heavily boiling pot. At the same time, Twilight knows what he has to do to help Wild.
Wild groans again, his face twisting as he gave a weak gag that brings nothing up. When Wild cracks his eyes open this time it takes him a few moments to realize that he’s sitting up.
Twilight must have understood his weak noises of confusion because he spoke, “Best way to deal with food poisoning is to get it out of you.”
As if it had heard Twilight, Wild’s stomach gave a sickening wet gurgling noise as the lump of undigested rancid food continued to throw a near tantrum inside of his stomach.
Wild whimpered curling up slightly into a ball, it is at that moment that he realizes that Twilight is sitting behind him on the ground, allowing Wild to lean back against his chest.
Twilight had one arm wrapped around him, a gentle hand on his chest securing him in place. Twilight has dealt with his fair share of food poisoning in the past.
Occasionally the kids in Ordon village would eat something strange and get sick. When that happened it was usually recommended that the person suffering from it attempted to get the tainted food up.
“Twi,” Wild mumbled swallowing wetly as drool trickled from his mouth. It spills over his lips almost lazily onto the ground with Wild doing nothing to stop it.
“You're gonna have to get it up Wild, you'll feel better afterward,” Twilight told the other again as he adjusted his grip on Wild. “I'll give ya a hand.”
Wild was quiet for a moment before groaning and nodding his head a tiny bit which was good, at least he was slightly aware enough to understand.
Twilight's hand moves carefully, slipping beneath Wild's blue champion tunic before coming to rest on his belly, the action as well as the position feels strangely intimate and he can't help the slight red blush that tinges his cheeks.
He'd be lying if he said he didn't think of Wild in that way, especially considering how close the two of them technically were. Twilight was honestly Wild's only travel companion and company these days which considering what seemed to have happened to him wasn't surprising. He was sure Wild may have felt the same but at the same time, it wasn’t quite something either of them had pushed honestly, besides the occasional cuddling from time to time and just enjoying each other’s presence.
Twilight scowled when he felt Wild's stomach burble sickeningly beneath his hand, the surface of it was tight, clearly bloated making it so the organ was a warm weight pressing back against his hand. It almost felt as if he were handling a hot water balloon.
As he moves his hand a tiny bit higher he can't help but notice the way Wild squirms ever so slightly and whimpers, letting him know that that's probably where most of the pain is located.
So, without giving Wild any warning he increases the pressure a bit, a loud burp rolling out of Wild as he lurches forward with a violent empty retch.
He's panting, drool dripping from his mouth in threads and onto the dirt, shakily he raises his head a bit to look at Twilight as best he can. For a moment though Twilight almost freezes when he sees the tears glistening in his eyes.
Something about that combined with the hold Twilight had on him, and the way Wild was pressed against him had Twilight doing his best to think of the cold creeks and rivers back home.
It was wrong to think like this truthfully especially considering Wild felt sick, and Twilight does his best to focus as he puts a bit more pressure on Wild's stomach. This time he feels the almost violent heaving of the organ beneath his hand as he does so.
Wild's whole body shudders as he lurches forward a gurgling, rumbling heave leaves him coughing as he brings up nothing but more drool. Twilight though does not give him a reprieve though knowing that Wild is close to getting everything up.
And he's right as one more small press is all it takes, there's a loud glorping noise that comes from Wild's stomach and Twilight sees his throat bob for a moment almost reflectively before another wet retch sends a large plume of slightly watery vomit sloshing and splattering onto the grass in front of them.
Carefully Twilight removes his hand from Wild's stomach instead brushing brushing his hair out of his face and holding him tightly as Wild lurches forward again completely at the mercy of his stomach.
A wet garbled burp seems to rumble up Wild's throat from the deepest pits of his stomach this time bringing something more substantial A wet garbled burp seems to rumble up Wild's throat from the deepest pits of his stomach this time bringing something more substantial. The barely digested soup that had been tossing and turning in his stomach spewed from his lips in a near-thick slightly lumpy paste.
“There you go, get it all up,” Twilight murmured as he watched Wild with slight worry. There was a chance after all that while this would help Wild's nausea, dizziness and stomach ache that the other would still be stuck with horrible food poisoning.
Which if Twilight was being honest he wouldn't be surprised considering how long Wild had waited to try to get the food up, not to mention how violent the vomiting was. Bringing Wild a tiny bit closer Twilight sniffed the back of the other's neck briefly, scowling when his suspicions were confirmed but the slight smell of sickness just beneath Wild's usual smell.
A garbled whimper draws his attention to Wild again, at this point a near flood of thinner vomit was pouring from Wild's mouth splattering onto the already rancid puddle on the ground.
As he began hacking and coughing the vomiting began tapering off and Twilight feels Wild become dead weight in his arms making a jolt of panic shoot through Twilight.
“Hey, Wild? Link,” Twilight called as he gave the other a small shake.
Wild responds rather quickly thankfully, a soft groan leaving his mouth as he squirms a bit in Twilight's grip for a second. “No shaking...” he rasped before going limp once more, not bothering to wipe the thin strands of bile and drool from his lips as he stared at the ground with glassy tear-filled eyes.
His breathing was harsh and while his stomach had calmed down a bit a low gurgling noise still came from the sore and upset organ.
It takes Wild a moment to get his bearings but eventually, bit by bit clarity returns to his eyes instead of moving however he shifts in Twilight's arms until he's leaning back against the other's chest.
Twilight let's him as well holding the other close. “Still feel sick?”
Wild groaned again as he nodded, “Wish, I could forget what food poisoning feels like again...”
That does get a small laugh out of Twilight to which Wild huffed softly.
