1. How did you become interested in Videography?
I used to like watching music videos and how well the songs matched the editing. It grew from there to all types of video.
2. What sort of stuff did you shoot when you were starting out?
I used to exclusively vlog (video-blog) on an older youtube channel. I realized the stuff I showed and talked about on camera was a bit boring so I moved onto vlogging at conventions. For the better part of the past year, I've stopped talking in my videos and purely shot the convention and cosplayers.
3. What's your favourite type of shoot and why?
I like a cosplay that I can do a 360 spin of. I also enjoy filming cosplayer(s) that act out or pantomime a scene from the series they're from.
4. Is there a dream shoot you'd like to do?
If I could film a full length music video with a convention as the backdrop it would be pretty much what I've always been striving for.
5. Besides Photography/Videography, what else do you like to do in your spare time?
I started out going to conventions as a cosplayer, and I still do when I'm not filming. I also studied illustration in school so I tend to draw a lot as well.
6. What shoots do you have planned for the future?
I don't really plan ahead anything specific, just what convention is next, and usually what song I want to use in the resulting video.
7. Any tips for anyone who wants to get into videography?
Budget yourself. It's an expensive hobby, but I managed to get a good start by purchasing my equipment on sale and shopping around. Also, don't be afraid to go out and get the shot or video you really want. If you have a vision, make it happen. The cosplayer(s) will be appreciative if you make them look awesome!
