*You can feel something off about your surroundings. Shadows shift and move, darting from one to the next. It darts into your shadow, and then you can hear her -- a woman's voice, grumbling about 'where the hell is he?'
@impish-midna
*Link's eyes follow the shadow's movement until he hears a voice, causing him to jump a little. He looks around, trying to figure where the voice is coming from.*
-you heard something from a nearby cave, it's a strange clicking sound that sends your hair on end-
-there are no other animals in the forest, not even monsters-
-Something scared them off-
@child-of-fae-born-of-remnant
Link follows the strange sound, his ears twitching with each click. The lack of any other sound or creature has him on edge, his sword drawn to his side. He's not in the best condition to fight, but if something has scared off even the monsters, then it is clearly a threat.
The clicking leads him to a cave, where he carefully peers in before stepping in. He holds his sword with both hands, prepared to swing at whatever creature was within this cave.
My name is Link, I am Princess Zelda's personal guard. And best friend! I have been chosen by the Sword to be the Hero to fight the Calamity.
A small Guardian from the future has come to warn us about the severity of the Calamity, and thus, we are making preparations early. As of now, Princess Zelda, Lady Impa, and I are heading to each of the other regions to gather the other Champions.
Please feel free to speak with him! We're trying to get him to open up a bit more. Castle life has been hard on him. Y-Your highness...

ABOUT LINK
Link is a gay trans man in this AU. He has lived in the Castle since he was 12. He is a shy and quiet person, but not afraid to step in front of someone causing others trouble. He struggles to stand up for himself, however, and will generally allow others to get away with tormenting him — Zelda usually comes to his aid when she's able.
He is older than Zelda, turning 13 shortly after moving to the Castle.
Most of the soldiers and servants do not like Link and tend to treat him very poorly. This, along with the stress of having to fight the Calamity one day, have made Link a nervous person.
Despite being trans, Link is comfortable with being feminine, but refrains from doing so in public due to past judgement. He is not on any form of hormones despite them being available.
ABOUT THIS BLOG
Unlike in AOC, Link retrieves the Master Sword at age 12. He wondered to the Korok Forest on accident, following an argument with his mother. Instead of returning home, he heads to the Castle, Sword in hand.
With his father, he meets with King Rhoam and Princess Zelda. Due to his age, King Rhoam decides to keep the information that he is the Hero and the Sword has been pulled a secret.
Despite her mixed feelings, Zelda decides to befriend Link. As they've gotten older, Link's become quiet and a bit distant, but they're close.
Link is Zelda's biggest supporter and comforts her regarding her struggles to unlock her powers. His presence has been helpful, as Zelda will get feelings here and there.
Now, 4 years later, they are setting out to ensure they succeed in defeating the Calamity.
Those who know Link is trans: his family, King Rhoam, Princess Zelda, Camila (his caretaker)
*He’s walking around quietly, focusing on where his feet fall to keep his mind from wandering. One of his hands is clearly Sheikah tech, mixed with something else. It’s glowing green. He’s hugging a large folded cloth in his arms, a symbol similar to the Royal family’s visible. He has a green hat on his head with a red bird stitched into the side, and a hair clip with feathers the color of the bright, mid-day sky. There’s a Sheikah bracelet on his forearm above the prosthetic hand. He hasn’t noticed you yet.

*Link watches as the stranger walks by, observing him. The Sheikah tech on his arm, cloth with something that looks like the royal family's symbol, it makes him alert. This person looks like a Link... Perhaps he's overthinking it?*
*He walks up to the person, ready to grab his sword if needed.*
E-Excuse me... Wh-where did you get th-that arm? I-It's made with Sh-Sheikah technology, b-but I've never s-seen anything like that b-before. Also, w-what are you c-carrying?
*Link's eyes widen at the sudden pain to his side. Clutching his side, he looks around to see who had stabbed him. How did they even cut through his chainmail?*
*Seeing no one, he pulls his hand away and looks at the amount of blood. He needs an elixir and relatively quickly. He digs through his bag, looking for a hearty elixir.*
*His brows furrow as he can't seem to find one. He... also doesn't have any hearty lizards to make an elixir with. Did he forget to restock at Castle Town? Shit-*
*He takes a shaky, pained breath as he slowly makes his way over to a nearby tree. Leaning against it, he sits against the tree, wincing at the pain. He's grateful this happened away from Zelda, though now Impa has another thing to complain about.*
*He searches through his bag again, this time for bandages. He sighs with relief that he at least had those. He pulls them out and slowly begins to take off his weapon and armor. His ears twitch as he listens for anything that could potentially seek up on him.*
