ahh! witness my negaverse designs! i might edit these a tad in the future but this is currently what they all look like. lil AU rant below the cut
The negaverse is such a cool concept for it not to be explored at ALL during the show. The fact that the friendly four don't have unique designs saddens me so much... but I suppose it does give me the opportunity to make my own designs!
Liquidator took the longest to design because I knew how to reverse his personality but not how to make a unique design... I knew I wanted him to be a working class guy whos very genuine and nice but doesn't speak much to oppose canon liquidator's cocky, fast-talking snake oil salesman kind of vibe. But i had no clue on how to change his design because he has no clothes and I cant just... change the colour of water? Then i had the idea to change his breed to a shaggy dog and it all clicked together after that... In this negaverse, Bud was a janitor before the accident which I feel really fits with the water abilities :3
Bushroot was pretty easy. In the show he is just kind of a sad fool who craves companionship so I made his negaverse variant an introvert who just wants to be left alone for the most part. Spike is also more catcoded than dogcoded in this au!
Quackerjack is one of my favourites but also one of the hardest to come up with a personality for because I didn't want to take his joy and whimsy... The main difference with this guy is just that he knows how to take criticism and is safe to leave around children. Both are things I would NEVER say about canon quackerjack.
Megavolt is also very hard to write a negaverse counterpart for and honestly im.. still working on it. It is difficult because to me megavolt's main personality traits are evil, delusional, and bad-memory... like. you cant invert those really? i dont want to take his symptoms of whatever is up with him away because he still HAD the same accident and taking those away would just feel like im saying that a hero cant stuggle with mental health. besides, that just leaves him with absolutely nothing but "smart guy". but i just have no idea what else to do w/ him </3 whatever, im still figuring it out ig.
I have ideas for other characters but obviously I care about these four the most just bc of the missed potential of them in the show. I love the negaverse episode so much I have watched it (and clash reunion) more than any other dwd episode! it gets my brain a going.
