Why do I not see more people talk about Farewell? I went into it not knowing a single thing about it because I’ve seen hardly anything about it, and then playing it, it feels like it’s so important to Chloe and Max’s connection and adds a lot more to it. It seems so important and has a lot in it that could be discussed so why isn’t it discussed more?

Just had to take this screenshot of young 14-year-old Chloe Price’s grades in the bonus ‘Farewell’ Episode from Life is Strange - Before the Storm. As someone who is majoring in geology, it makes me very happy to see that she got an A in Earth Sciences, not that I’m biased or anything. ;) And sure, Max might kick her butt in PE, but a sloth could have kicked mine in Phys Ed as well, so there’s that. Ugh FUCKING BEEP TESTS ARE THE DEVIL’S SPAWN. Straight from the 7th level of hell. /rant.
And as someone who loves to write, the English A- grade Chloe has here makes me happy, especially since I’d taken a couple creative writing classes at 3rd--final year--undergrad level at university for my unendorsed graduate diploma. Clearly she was a very intelligent and creative young girl, and it’s sad to see what happens later, but I can’t blame her, considering all the crap she ended up going through. She was definitely suffering from depression of some sort for all that time since her father’s death, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she almost completely lost her passion for anything she used to love especially in science or learning in general. One of the hallmarks of clinical depression is a loss of interest in things you used to love.
I like to headcanon that a lot later in life - as in probably like her late twenties or something - she decides to return to higher education, once she’s sorted herself out to the point she can perform her usual academic abilities again. She’d likely need a pre-university--or what have you--course that brings her up to speed before doing any degree. But as someone who also always loved science since childhood, I like to think she rediscovers her love for science and wants to study it at a higher level.
Another reason I’d say late twenties, aside from all the trauma she’s been through, especially with what happened in the main Life is Strange story, is also because by then, she’d probably have neurologically matured into the adult she would be for the remainder of her life; it’s a common fact heard that your frontal lobe--I think--which is responsible for thinking before acting and not doing dumb things, is the last bit of the brain to finish maturing/growing completely, usually by the time you’re 25.
Oh Chloe...why do you make me feel so many feels goddamit.
