Pretty solid crime novel with a fast-paced ending! The protagonist, Frankie, works independently to help resolve missing persons cases, specifically for minorities and POC. I thought the concept of this novel was great with just enough suspense and intrigue to keep me guessing who was at fault for the abduction of Angelique. I love Lisa Gardner’s writing style as it’s easy to follow along and guess what’s coming next. My few problems with this one were the lack of depth to the story and characters, and the protagonist’s flashbacks to a previous crime were sort of unresolved? Plus the cover for the book doesn’t really match the plot of the story, just the flashback, which was also odd (I feel like there will be a sequel to this one though, so maybe it will make sense later)?!! So many questions. I also wish the ending was more shocking, as I kind of figured it out. Nevertheless, this was a solid all-around read.
