We’re excited to let you know that Lit Fest is back! The event will take place on Friday, 30th September. And as per Lit Fest tradition, all students can dress up as their favourite literary characters on this day!
As a lead-up to the Literary Festival, the Ed Board is organising competitions for three categories: Classes 6 and 7, Classes 8 and 9, and Classes 10, 11 and 12. Students may submit their art, photography, and writing (either in English or in Hindi) to the Editorial Board at [email protected]. We’re expecting some great entries by Wednesday, 28th September! (An example of a six word story: For sale: Baby shoes, never worn. - Ernest Hemingway)
On the day of the Lit Fest itself, there will be many events.
Classes 6 to 8 will see a fun performance by Dastangoi, compete in Fancy Dress Competition, and participate in an inter-house Lit Quiz. Apart from this classes 7 and 8 will have a sing-along with Uma Ma’am and class 6 will have a poster-making activity. Those who wish to participate in the Fancy Dress Competition should write to the Editorial Board at [email protected] with their name, class, and section by 11:59PM on the 28th of September.
We are pleased to announce that we will be joined by Ms. Juhi Chaturvedi, a famous screenwriter and advertising professional, for a session with classes 9 to 12. These classes will also attend an interactive session with Terribly Tiny Tales, an online page dedicated to posting stories within 140 characters. We hope to inspire students on minimalistic writing styles and microfiction through this workshop.
There will also be a Spoken Word Poetry Performance and Workshop for interested students from classes 11 to 12. This session will be conducted by members of the Airplane Poetry Movement, which is a project to discover and develop the best spoken word poetry talent from among the youth. This group organises literary events across the nation. Those who wish to attend this session should write to the Editorial Board at [email protected] with their name, class, and section.
During lunch, all students are welcome to be a part of the Book Exchange, wherein they can take a book back with them for every book that they give. There will also be an opportunity for students to get their photographs clicked in their costumes at the photo-booths set up in school.
We promise it will be a fun-filled day and look forward to having a fantastic Lit Fest with all of you!
Thank you
