Hi, I’m afraid I’m a bit ignorant when it comes to fanzines. Can you explain what they are? I keep seeing previews for “Strange Oddities” popping up around tumblr, and it’s got me super curious and interested, but I don’t know what it is or what’s going on! I also understand that we can’t order it yet, but if I do decide I want to order it around when could I expect to do so, where would I go to do so, and about how much would it cost? Hi there!A fanzine is a magazine that is made by fans of a topic because they want more content related to that thing. There’s actually a really in-depth wikipedia article about fanzines that is an interesting read for anyone wanting to learn more about the history of the culture! It used to be that people had to have communities in-person to know about fanzines, traveling a lot to meet up with like-minded fans. In the age of the internet it’s become a lot easier to make fanzines and get them out to the masses.Strange Oddities is a McHanzo fanzine specifically for those that love the spooky paranormal! It’s going to feature Hanzo and McCree as monsters, and hunting monsters, and being hunted by monsters ;) There will be fic and art with options for additional merch.
And best of all, all the proceeds will go to charity!The zine is going to go on sale October 1st (we’re finalizing this now, if this date changes I’ll let y’all know), when a post with all the information about what is available and links to the store will be up on our tumblr. As far as prices:-PDF (SFW): $5-PDF (SFW+NSFW): $8-Simple Zine (Physical copy of the zine - 100% SFW - PDF included): $20-Simple Zine (Physical copy of the zine + SFW/NSFW PDFs): $22-Bundle Zine (Physical copy of the zine, all PDFs, plus prints, stickers, and more!): $28

Hey! My zine arrived! Woot! 😆 So before I open it, I wanna know: is this one of those things where the download link can only be followed once and then you get an error message any time after that, or can I use the download link to download the zine onto multiple devices?
It’s a dropbox link, so it never expires! Multiple-device to your heart’s content. All we ask is that you don’t share it around since that defeats the whole purpose of the sale and making that sweet charity money. I’m sure that’s obvious, but sometimes what I think is obvious isn’t obvious, so there ya go ;-)

So now that you guys have ordered the full production of the physical copies and the merch is in, what is there left for you guys to do, and about how long do you estimate until we start receiving our copies?
Hi there! At the moment we’re in a waiting period for everything to arrive so it can be compiled into shipments. The zines are expected to get to us the first week on January (I imagine printers are usually backlogged in December). Meanwhile, our editor is finishing up compiling the NSFW PDF! We wanted to get the physical zines printed ASAP so she worked on that first, saving the NSFW for to work on while we were waiting.As soon as we get all the parts, the admin handling shipping will package everything and ship them on their way! All PDFs will be emailed out the same day we do shipping so everything goes out at the same time. After that, we’ll wait and make sure there aren’t any shipping issues that we need to address, and then we’ll make an announcement with our donation to charity!Based on the times we’ve been given by the printer and just general estimates on how long it will take to get shipped, we’re planning on getting everything in the mail by the end of the first week/beginning of second week of January. After that, it depends on what country you’re in as to how long it takes from there. We’re doing our absolute best to get things rolling as smoothly as possible! <3
Now that the preorder period is over, at what point will the pdfs start going out? Super excited to get it! :D
