Here is a sign of true love taught to me by example some 50-plus years ago. MigiMo has been experiencing severe pain in her right knee in the middle of the night lately. I give her two acetaminophen at bedtime and that usually helps her sleep through the night. However, not the past three nights. So I’ve had to give her a second dose of dōTERRA Deep Blue rub in the middle of the night, along with some liquid morphine, to help ease her pain. Tonight she was still awake experiencing discomfort so I laid down in the twin bed next to her hospital bed and gently rubbed her knee and leg. After a while she asked if we had enough milk for some hot chocolate. I said “yes” and headed on to my task. On my way to the kitchen, I thought: “This will be nice—some bonding mother/son time over some Ibarra Mexican hot chocolate!” As I got the middle-sized sauce pan and milk ready I suddenly remembered: “DOGGONE IT!! I have a FASTING blood appointment at my doctor’s office at 8:30!?!?” So I sadly swapped out the medium saucepan for the small one and slowly poured ONE cup of milk into it. While the milk warmed on the stovetop I pulled out the Ibarra from the cupboard, reminding myself: “DON’T gnaw on the sweet, luscious triangle of Ibarra goodness!! DON’T blow your fast!” While I stirred the chocolate triangles into the milk as it went from warm to hot melting this confectionery delight, my inner voice said: “DON’T taste the hot chocolate to see if it’s ‘just right’! DON’T even lick the spoon!!” Tonight I even tried something new by using a whisk to blend the residue chunks of melted chocolate into the hot, steamy milk...ahhhh...hot chocolate perfection!! Slowly, I walked through the darkened living room, careful not to spill anything. I turned on the bedroom light...to find MigiMo fast asleep!!! I quietly whispered in her ear: “Do you want your hot chocolate or do you want to sleep?” After reading all this take, surely you can guess her reply!! #livingwithanonagenarian #migimoment #caregiverlife #livingwithelderlyparents #ibarrahotchocolate #mexicanhotchocolate #humanmoments #humanmoment #livingwithmigimo #lovingyourparents #lovingyourparentsisbestpartofyourlife❤😇😘❤❤ (at East Mesa, Arizona) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJ--IlZhYvt/?igshid=k1u0gsqv8lvs
