Stop Punishing Yourself (Eat Pray Love 2010)
Liz Gilbert, Comer, rezar, amar

fairy dust
i recently read something that changed my perspective.
a few months ago after i wrote afterdate, i felt a little indifferent. ngl, i felt like it was my best work. but i did not know where it came from. i don’t know how i came up with that. so i felt ashamed for a while because i could not write like that anymore. i felt like a fraud.
today i found out that might’ve been “fairy dust”
Something is carrying me along—something powerful and generous—and that something is decidedly not me.
You may know this feeling. It’s the feeling you get when you’ve made something wonderful, or done something wonderful, and when you look back at it later, all you can say is: “I don’t even know where that came from.
You can’t repeat it. You can’t explain it. But it felt as if you were being guided.
“If you’re brave enough to leave behind everything familiar and comforting (which can be anything from your house to bitter, old resentments) and set out on a truth-seeking journey (either externally or internally) and if you are truly willing to regard everything that happens to you on that journey as a clue, and if you accept everyone you meet along the way as a teacher, and if you are prepared, most of all, to face and forgive some very difficult realities about yourself, then the truth will not be withheld from you.”
I saw this movie last night, it was on my list for a very long time. I just admired the courage of this woman, who was ready to leave everything easy and comforting behind and begin a journey in order to find herself. She travels to Italy, where she enjoys herself and eats (”Eat”), then to India, where she has a spiritual experience (”Pray”) and in the end to Bali, where she looks for balance and finds love (”Love”). The most beautiful thing actually in this movie are the images of all these places around the world. A really good movie to spend a saturday night with a glass of wine.
Eat Pray Love (2010)
Genre: Drama
Directed by: Ryan Murphy
Written by: Ryan Murphy, Jennifer Salt
Based on the book of the same name by Elizabeth Gilbert
In conclusion: Creativity is sacred, and it's not sacred. What we make matters enormously, and it doesn't matter at all. We toil alone, and we are accompanied by spirits. We are terrified, and we are brave. Art is a crushing chore and a wonderful privilege. Make space for all these paradoxes to be equally true inside your soul, and I promise - you can make anything. So please calm down and get back to work, okay? The treasures that are hidden inside you are hoping you say yes.

Camila commented on Elizabeth Gilbert’s post. Both her and Shawn started following her a few weeks ago.
Do you think they are reading her books together?
