I read Daniel Pinkwater's Lizard Music

This book was published in 1976 and set in an alternate universe Chicago with a kid who's a Walter Cronkite fan who takes a weekend trip to a floating island of talking lizards. The climax of the book is a chick hatching, which the kid doesn't witness.

I'm trying to figure out how A24 is going to make this a film. It is very much from the 1970s Midwest. How is that going to translate to screen? And not be Fargo?

Reading Lizard Music for the first time since I was in elementary school.

It was definitely written in the 1970s, and set in the Midwest.
