More of that Macaque Lives AU I've been playing with because it's been super fuuuun

I do wanna note that I'm not trying to make Mac seem like the perfect soul in this au- believe me I had a lot of problems with how Macaque behaved in Seasons 1-3, especially to Mk specifically, but instead to see a version of macaque that was in an entirely different headspace than the show. Basically Revenge Motivated vs Emotionally Debilitated.

Anyway

If you were curious if Wukong finds out Mac's alive - he does. Just during a time where the poor idiot doesn't even have a CHANCE to react. But I do imagine Mac being there helps snap him out of LBD's control.

However, we do have that end scene with MK and Wukong on the cliffside - there's when he gets a chance to take in what he's seen. How does he handle it?

I adore possessed Wukong's design but the armor beats my ass everytime 😔

Anyway a couple notes -

In this AU they never got into a relationship when they were younger. Mac had a crush, Wukong is a goober that didn't realize until too late that you could love your best friend.

Wukong has done a lot of shutting out these feelings, so they really hit him like a bus when he realizes they very much still exist.

Unfortunately for Wukong- Someone has a lot of regrets regarding his feelings and even though Wukong tries - some things can't be forgiven.

Drawing human Mk still remains the most cursed thing I've ever done and I'll die on that hill

I've wanted to play with a "What if Mac didn't actually die" Au for a bit now- but I wasn't entirely sure how I wanted to approach it.

But then I remembered how Wukong went into that meditative state in Season 3 so he'd heal faster and my brain was like- What if Macaque ran off and tried to do something like that. But because of how mentally distressed he was he just,,, got trapped in that state for yeARS.

Since he's stuck in that state in a random cave somewhere - people who knew him begin to believe he's dead. I'm imagining during the whole removing the fire from Red incident DBK yells at him for "Killing" Macaque, and it's then Wukong thinks he really did kill him. Well then time passes n yada yada, Mk and his goofy self gets blasted into the floor by whatever monster of the week thing happens. It's there he finds Mac still in this state, and he wakes him up. Now something to note that I would think happened in this state- For one, Macaque did heal up- but he also still aged like any normal being should.

Something to note about this version of Mac - He never intends to be a mentor.

So even though Mk asks him to be one, ignoring the fact that Wukong would have found out about him much quicker if he had agreed, Mac just isn't for it. Because he doesn't think he'd make a good one. However he does help Mk in his own way - aka filling in the gaps in Wukong's crazy ass lessons he never gives context for. (I'd like to think the bottom image takes place during Season 2 where Wukong is off to get the map)

So instead of getting a Macaque that's focused on revenge on Wukong, you've got a Macaque that's reached his limit and is tired of trying with Wukong. So he remains, albeit still terrfied given the eye incident, docile. Emotionally and mentally tired, but docile.

Also in my opinion - in the show Mac only wanted to be Mk's mentor to piss Wukong off, because it seems he really drops it past season 2.

Also fun fact - he and Pigsy get along quite well because Pigsy appreciates that Macaque tries to keep the kids out of trouble.

Also playing with the idea that his fur gets a fun lil purple effect to it due to being under so long (yknow like how some people do with LBD with the white). --- I got wayyy too tickled with my ideas for this and really went hard on doodling ideas as soon as possible. I'm STILL tickled with my own ideas and am having to calm myself down a little here. Also i realized I've nEVER drawn Mk as not a monkey and this was the most cursed ever thing I've ever drawn hands down, bring back my monkey son. Also I'm still playing around with how Mac's presence here effects Season 3 - All I know is some things get interesting.

Also there is Shadowpeach in this au, but do I still tag it despite it not being in the above images idunno

So this is something I wanted to share for a good bit- It's actually a second version of the au here I've mentioned before.

I abandoned this version of the au because it didn't seem very logical in my opinion? But I still do like playing with the idea quite a lot.

So in this version of the au- instead of Mac and Wukong being entire strangers they actually have a similar relationship to what they did in the past in the show. Mac has basically been by Wukong's side basically forever, and he's Wukong's royal advisor when it comes to kingdom stuff.

Well basically they get into an argument on how to handle the situation with the other kingdom and Mac storms out. He's decided to try to approach the other kingdom, and in doing so he's involved in the accident that results in MK being parentless (He's not the cause, but he witnessed it). He then brings MK to the kingdom where the Jade Emperor is called in to assess the situation. It's there he forces Macaque to be locked within said kingdom to be MK's personal guardian/guide. He also doesn't allow Mac to talk to anyone outside of the kingdom, which in turn makes Wukong think Mac got kidnapped or that he literally died. So yadayada

Anyway, I didn't think this version of the au made entirely much sense in context- But I still really like playing around with this version. Especially when i think about mac eventually returning with this gremlin of a kid. Also played with a new outfit for Mac here idk man

Also for this one- don't expect much sketchy style drawings from me too often because I really don't like how my sketches look lol - I just thought it fit the event.

Anyway, this scene is basically the same in each version of the au. It's Mac finding lil baby Mk on the day of the "Incident" where he lost his "parents".

We've all seen that Mk's monkey form comes out during times of distress, and I wanted that to actually play into the story. So in my mind the event terrified the lil baby boy enough to transform. I briefly brought up how the incident really shaped Mk and how he behaves in this AU here - he's still traumatized by said event despite not being able to even remember it other than nightmares.

Man, those stupid ass monkeys.

It was funny rewatching the show because these two barely interacted in seasons 1-2- so I was thinking I imagined some things. But then you get to Seasons 3-5 and you're like "Aha, there it is"

Anyway- I really like the idea that Wukong was just so attached to Macaque that even when they weren't "together" Wukong was perfectly content with giving, and recieving, kisses and other affections from just Macaque alone.

Like I still believe the man is affectionate to anyone he sees as a friend- but Macaque especially received it all.

So this is actually a drawing I had nearly completed before I decided to remake the last drawing I posted before. Also it's a drawing I simply made to get back into drawing these idiots after being gone so long. Also they're in the sweaters again because I didn't have their references on hand at the time so I went simple lol Originally I hadn't planned to share this, but it's art of these two so I figured why not throw it here. Just Monkies getting along, that's about it.

Jumpscare! I've returned! This time I come with an art piece a lil familiar to this account. A redraw of this art I did a long time back. It was one of my favorites I've drawn of them, but I didn't like the old style it was drawn in. So why not give it a second wind? I missed drawing these two. I have some other ideas skittering in my head that should be out way sooner than my last post lol

When your new adopted child is a master at discovering the best fruits without trying. MK actually still has this talent even as an adult. He's not aware he has it, but both Mac and Wukong are aware. - Dooooodle, because I got stuff to do in the morning and don't have time for anything else. I do have ideas for other stuff though.
