Last night was beautiful. Except for John Taverner’s ‘Song for Athene’ which left me sobbing to the point where I was inconsolable and there was nothing anyone could do to stop me crying. I knew there was a reason I didn’t like that piece and why I went to such measures to ensure we never performed it at school. But BBC last night of the proms, A** to you like legit wow.
