PUNK!STAN + NERD!BILL AU
i’m working on shit i swear, this is just for the wait.
HERE WE GO
Stan, Richie, Mike, and Bev are the punks.
Eddie, Stan, and Ben are the “nerds”
Stan is very intimidating with his leather jacket and his boots, but he’s a fucking softie.
Bill knows this.
They got paired for an assignment in history freshman year. Stan was pissed he didn’t get Mike (because my son is a genius!) but when he saw how cute Bill was he dropped it.
Bill was expecting to do the whole thing himself, but Stan was very helpful and did his part.
Bill was lowkey embarrassed about his stutter because HE was used to it and so were his friends, but he was scared Stan was gonna make fun of him for it
He didn’t (much to Bill’s surprise)
Richie kept teasing Stan because of how much he talked about Bill.
But Stan could do the same thing with him and Eddie
Bev is a lesbian!
Mike has a little crush on Ben
After the project was over, Stan still sat next to Bill.
And talked to him
And hung out with him.
They’re like real friends
That occasionally flirt
and are constantly touching each other
but whatever, moving on
BECAUSE they hung out so much that meant that their crews hung out too
No one was complaining, everyone had a crush on everyone (except for Bev, of course. she was crushing on the head cheerleader)
This goes on until the summer before junior year (YOU ARE SIXTEEN GOING ON SEVENTEEN, BABY ITS TIME TO THINK -Bill, to which Stan replies: You’re a Fucking Dork, Denbrough)
They’re hanging out at the Denbrough household, watching a movie n stuff
There are no parents because they have jobs (Not everyone can have a summer break, Billiam -Stan)
Now, contrary to popular belief, Bill kisses Stan first.
stan is shook
But we all know Derry is a piece of shit town, so as much as they want to be open about their relationship (as much as Stan wants to show Bill off) they can’t
Bill’s parents are convinced Stan replaced Eddie as Bill’s best friend
“What do they think we’re doing in your room all the time?”
“Studying.”
“Seriously?”
Makeout sessions start two (2) weeks after they first kiss
It’s intense
School starts back up again and they barely have any classes together (What the Fuck -Stan)
They see each other in between classes though
THEY MAKE EYE CONTACT AND STAN SMIRKS WHICH MAKES BILL BLUSH AND ITS THE CUTEST THING EVER, OK.
Bill starts getting antsy during class and even Eddie is like “Bro, chill tf out”
Bill doesn’t fucking know why until he sees Stan and immediately calms down
“I’m h-having Stan withdrawls???”
“That’s fucking adorable”
“Sh-Shut up, b-bird boy”
“Hush, Denbrough”
lots of hand holding
and kissing when no one is around
BILL SKIPPED CLASS JUST TO BE AROUND STAN AND MR. STANLEY LOST IT
“Bill, seriously. You don’t have to skip class, we could’ve just waited it’s fine.”
“N-No, it’s b-basically a free p-period anyways. I w-w-wanna be here”
Stan’s whipped™
Bev won’t let him live it down! Stan is whipped!
Mike doesn’t give a shit, he never has, really. As long as stan’s happy.
Richie’s a prick at first, but Stan really is his best friend and he knows he’s really in deep with Bill so he doesn’t say much.
BUT WHEN HE DOES.. BOY.
Ok but there was one day, Bill’s stutter was super bad for some reason. He thought it was getting better but that day was not good.
He doesn’t talk much that day and Stan gets really worried.
When Bill finally tells him what’s going on (in the middle of their makeout session because Stan won’t stop asking if he’s ok) Stan tells him that his stutter is adorable, and that he was sure it was just Bill’s nerves.
BILL GIVES HIM THE SOFTEST HEART EYES EVER before they start making out again.
But then they go and have lunch with everyone and Bill is stuttering so bad over his words. Stan is squeezing his hand underneath the table, but it’s not helping much.
And then Richie goes “Just spit it out, b-b-bill.”
Bev smacks the shit out Richie’s arm
Eddie does the same with his head.
Mike and Ben are fr glaring at him.
Stan’s ready to murder him with the spork he got in the lunchline
Bill stops talking for the day.
Stan doesn’t speak to richie for the rest of the week.
“That was fucked up, Richie.” -Eddie
“What do you want me to do, Eds? Apologize? Bill probably hates me—“
“Don’t call me Eds, and yes! that’s what I’ve been telling you to do for days now!”
Stan crawls through Bill’s window at night so he can hold his boyfriend
Stan won’t tell him that his dad usually screams at him for being a disgrace to the family.
DW, Bill will find out soon enough.
Bill hasn’t spoken much, not even with Stan and he is BEYOND PISSED at Richie.
“I’m really sorry about Richie, Bill.”
“I-It’s not your f-fault, and h-he didn’t mean a-anything by it.”
STAN JUST WANTS TO HEAR HIS BOYFRIEND’S VOICE OK
also, they haven’t actually called each other boyfriends and they’ve been dating for eight months so
“N-No, I know. I just– I just know how he can be.”
“I’m fine, Stan.”
Bill really was fine about that, he was just stressed because of school.
Stan is a few inches taller than Bill (6’0”, while Bill is chilling at 5’10”)
which means Bill is the little spoon :)
Stan absolutely loves having Bill so close to him. It helps him and Bill sleep because it’s so warm and comfortable, and with his arm around him he feels like he can protect Bill from everyone and everything.
And that’s all he wants to do
Richie does apologize to Bill, to which Bill says he really didn’t mind (it was mostly Stan)
Onto The Next
Stan slowly starts wearing brighter colors (i.e the pastels + white)
“You’ve gone soft, Stanny Boy” -Bev
“Shut the fuck up, Beverly”
“I think you look great.” -Mike
“That’s gay!” -Richie
“Beep Beep, Richie!” -Bev, Stan, and Mike.
“I was growing fond of the leather jackets.” -Bill.
“It’s too hot for that, Denbrough.”
Now, it’s pretty clear how overprotective Stan is of Bill, but Mr. Denbrough is just as bad as he is.
Girls flirting with Stan? Issa no from Bill.
BUT HE CAN’T DO ANYTHING IN PUBLIC IT SUCKS
So it just leads to a very heated makeout later.
BOYS flirt with Stan? (yeah, it’s happened) Count Billiam is alive and well.
Seriously! the love bites that boy leaves, whew.
And stan didn’t give a shit whether or not his dad saw them.
“Bill, they’re everywhere. You can stop.”
“I’ll st-stop a-as soon as I-I can say h-he’s my f-fucking boyfriend ou-outloud.”
“Then do it.”
“Stan..”
“Do you care anymore?”
HE DOESNT. HE REALLY DOESNT GIVE A SHIT BECAUSE HE’S SO FUCKING HAPPY WITH STAN.
“N-No”
The biggest smile breaks out on the curly haired jewish boys face oh my GOD
“Great, I don’t either”

“i’ll believe it when i see it.” richie shook his head.
“you two could be twins.” will shrugged and richie laughed.
“is that why you hang around me so much? miss your boyfriend?” richie teased and will’s face went red.
the byers family was in derry visiting bob’s family and making arrangments for his funeral.
one day, will was out on his bike, trying to “get some fresh air” as jonathan had suggested when he ran into richie. at first, will swore it was mike. he thought it was unbelievable— his mike was in maine sitting on the bike in front of him.
and then richie opened his mouth. at that point will knew that it wasn’t mike, but goddamn it the resemblance was uncanny. over the course of the next few days he’d run into richie at the store, in the street, walking around; he understood derry was a small town, much like hawkins, and he wasn’t bothered by the other boy’s presence. not one bit.
richie felt the same. will was a soft spoken and kind kid whereas he felt he was the complete opposite. in the few weeks that they’d known each other, richie knew they evened each other out.
“he’s not my boyfriend.” will looked at richie seriously to which the taller boy rose his hands.
“the way you talk about him says otherwise.” richie shrugged simply and will scrunched his eyebrows together.
richie scoffed, will’s crush on his friend back home was obvious and will really couldn’t seem to grasp that.
“and the way he talks, richie. it’s music to my ears. and he smells so nice all the time, not like the other boys at our school, he bathes and smells like a gentlemen. he’s the best story-teller, richie! you should see us play D&D—“ richie fawned mockingly, causing will to push him over.
“i don’t do that!” will’s face got redder if it were possible. “but you do.” richie laughed. will pursed his lips and stayed quiet, pondering his next question as richie swallowed thickly. he didn’t like silence. it reminded him to much of his own home. always quiet, always empty.
“you haven’t made fun of me for it.” will pulled richie out of his thoughts. richie looked at the smaller kid weirdly. “made fun of you for what? your ugly haircut?” richie asked absentmindedly. the comment only earned him another eyeroll from will which made him laugh.
“if you do that too much your eyes’ll get stuck in the back of your head.” he teased and will wove him off.
“you haven’t made fun of me for having a crush on a guy.” will explained quietly and richie stopped walking.
“why would i do that?” he made a face and will shrugged.
“everyone in hawkins did. they didn’t even know if it was true, but they made fun of me anyways.” will went on. richie sighed, he could go into details about his huge crush on eddie, or his small one on will, but he couldn’t. too personal, he assumed even though they’d told each other plenty of personal things.
instead he took a few steps forward and wrapped his arm around his new friend’s shoulders.
“stranger things have happened. i don’t judge.” richie spoke without a trace of jokingness in his tone. will looked up at him thankfully.
he was glad he met richie.

I can’t breathe.
The room with white walls and what felt like twenty square feet was filled with people— doctors, if that really was what they were. Mike didn’t know, but they seemed deadset on helping Will so he hadn’t questioned them.
But he stood there, feeling a weight on his chest– a block in his lungs; He felt like he couldn’t breathe.
It wasn’t just because of how crowded it felt in the room, but because of how his world was getting flipped around for the second time.
Mrs. Byers stood there, shaking as she gripped the bar on the side of the bed with Chief Hopper behind her. With every passing moment she seemed more and more on the verge of tears, but she stayed strong—for Will.
That was exactly what Mike was trying to do.
The old man—doctor Owens, he thought his name was, moved his seat closer to Will’s bed and Mike held his breath. Will didnt deserve this, he didn’t deserve anything that’d happened to him in the last year. He’d been through so much and now it was happening all over again.
Mike stood there, looking at his friend— his best friend. Will’s skin was paler than normal, the bags underneath his eyes were much darker, his lips were chapped, his once vibrant green eyes were staring straight at the wall behind him and they seemed darker…
Not in a way that made Will seem angry, but in a way that it seemed like the color of his eyes were changing.
“Alright, do you know your name?” Doctor Owens leaned forward. Will’s eyes blinked for the first time in what felt like hours to Mike. The small boy turned his head to look at the old man and blinked again. Mike didn’t notice he was shaking until he felt his hand on his leg.
Calm down. Be strong. Do it for Will.
“Will,” His voice came out hoarse and Mike tried to hide the fact that he winced. “Full name.” Doctor Owens insisted.
“William Byers.” He spoke louder than before and Mike took a step forward. William Alistair Byers.
Mike remembered when Will’d told him that. He remembered how jealous he got because he got stuck with the disgusting name Michael Theodore Wheeler. He remembered Will’s eye brightening when Mike told him.
Will’s eyes didn’t do that anymore.
“Do you know… Do you know who I am?” Owens went on and Will shut his eyes before answering: “A doctor,” More questioning than stating it. Doctor Owens gave him a strange look that made Mike break out into a cold sweat. It was ok, Will had the best memory out of the party. It’ll come back to him for sure.
“Have we met before?”
“I don’t remember,” Will shook his head and Mike felt his stomach churn nervously.
It’s ok, he just met Doctor Owens a few months ago. It’s fine.
The doctor hummed. “You don’t remember me?”
Will only shook his head.
“Okay,” The man breathed as he straightened his back in the chair. Mike’s heart was beating so harshly he was sure everyone else could hear it. He wouldn’t forget me, right? There’s no way. I’m his best friend and he’s mine. We’ve known each other for so long, he couldn’t have forgotten me. Not after everything—
“How about… this guy here?” He pointed to Mike and his heart stopped.
Will slowly turned his head to look at Mike, and God, Mike wished he’d take that dumb ass blank expression off his face.
Smile. Cry. Get anry. Do something.
“Know who that is?”
Will stayed silent and Mike felt ready to faint.
“He’s…” Will drifted off and Mike’s expression. Come on, buddy. Come on.
“S’alright, take your time.” He gestured and Mike almost glared at the man.
“That’s…” It was on the tip of his tongue. Will recognized the boy’s dark brown curls, his eyes, his face, he knew the boy, but what was his name?
“I-I don’t– I don’t know.” Will forced out of his raw throat and Mike felt his heart fall into his stomach.
Mrs. Byers’ eyes widened as she looked between Mike and her son. Chief Hopper did the same. Mike sayed frozen, feeling the his eyes burn at the arrival of his tears and not knowing what else to do.
“I’m Mike,” His voice came out softer than he wanted it to. He couldn’t get it any louder without it breaking. The eyes in the room were either on Mike or Will.
Will only shook his head and he felt a sick. Why didn’t he remember that? Why didn’t memories of this boy come back, why didn’t this make sense?
Will kept his eyes on him— this boy that he knew was apart of his life— yet he felt nothing.
And Mike, well he was hurt. He was angry.
Not at Will— no, of course not.
This isn’t his fault.
Whatever had taken over his best friend was feeding on his memories. That thing was the reason Will couldn’t remember Mike.
And he was going to do everything he could to get it out.

here’s part one of however many i decide!
bill noticed there was something up with stan right away.
he slowly started distancing himself from the loser. making excuses as to why he couldn’t meet up with them at the barrens, cancelling on them last minute before going to the aladdin, and his his head was always tilted down looking at his phone.
bill found it odd, stan was never that kid. he was always pitching into the conversation, the day that stopped was the day bill knew things were changing.
richie started to pick up on it too. he went back to bill, ranting about how he knew stan, and how that wasn’t him.
bill had never seen richie so serious.
“i-i-i know, rich. i wanna know what’s going on too.” bill gnawed at his bottom lip as he rubbed the back of his neck. he was worried. he’d known stan for eleven out of the seventeen years he’d been alive and stan never acted like this.
“i’m gonna talk to him.” richie moved swiftly towards bill’s door, but he grabbed his arm before he could get any further. richie was too impulsive for that– he’d go in pissed as hell and yelling. bill didn’t want that.
“richie, i-if you g-g-go in there angry, nothing is g-gonna go w-w-well.” bill warned seriously. richie clenched his jaw and looked down. bill could only imagine what he was going through– riche’d known stan for longer than he did.
“i’m worried.” he muttered. bill only nodded and slid his hand up to richie’s shoulder before squeezing it.
“i-i-i’ll talk to him and let you know what he says.” bill reassured calmly. richie pushed his glasses back up onto the bridge of his nose and looked into bill’s kind eyes.
trust him.
“thanks” he nodded solemnly. “go cool down. talk to eddie.” bill joked slightly. richie sent him a playful glare before grinning and walking out of the other’s boy’s room calmly.
“s-s-stan.” bill knocked on his open door. stan sat up at the sound of the familiar voice.
"bill? what are you– why are you here?“ stan stood up quickly, causing bill to raise both eyebrows.
"i-i can’t come over to s-s-see my best fr-friend?” bill asked weirdly and stan scratched the back of his head. what the hell is going on?
"not without calling, bill.“ stan sighed as he looked down. "you would’ve flaked.” bill spoke up, without a stutter, much to stan’s surprise.
stan felt terrible for being so distant from his friends, he did. he felt awful for keeping secrets because his friends trusted him, and he was letting them down.
“i-i wouldn’t have flaked—”
“sure,” bill nodded sarcastically.
bill didn’t want to come off as rude, but he was tired of whatever stan was pulling. maybe richie should have cone to talk to him.
stan was appalled. he’d expect this type of hostility from richie, bev– hell, even eddie.
but not bill.
"bill, listen. i know i haven’t been the greatest friend lately–"
“th-that’s one way to put it.” bill crossed his arms over his chest, which only made stan’s heart fall deeper into his stomach.
“i have a reason,” he went on, almost pleadingly. was the reason a good one? well, that was up to bill to decide.
“a reason y-you c-c-couldn’t share with the rest of us?” bill questioned and stan shut his eyes.
“it’s complicated, ok.” he breathed.
“what’s complicated?” an unfamiliar voice to bill asked weirdly. stan’s heart started racing and him his anxiety spiked.
oh, great.
bill turned to see a girl, almost as tall as stan with light brown skin and dark, wild, curly hair.
“tal, you weren’t supposed to be here for another fifteen minutes.” the tone in stan’s voice wasn’t annoyed, per say. more like a mixture of that and helplessness.
bill stayed quiet, confused as to who the pretty girl was, what she was doing in stan’s house, why she was early, and what the hell was going on.
“well, i wanted to see my boyfriend.” the girl grinned and bill scrunched his eyebrows together.
“girlfriend?” bill questioned as he struggled to keep the upset look off his face.
tal’s eyes widened as she looked between the two boys.
oh.
“you’re bill, right?” tal spoke softly. stan looked at her with an unreadable expression, while bill forced himself to nod.
“i-i’m tal. stan’s told me a lot about you and the rest of his friends.” she gave a small, warm smile as she held her hand out. she’s sweet— i don’t like her.
bill was surprised at his own thoughts. he should be happy for stan, but he wasn’t. it was probably because stan hadn’t told him, but there was a feeling he couldn’t shake when he thought about it—
stan has a girlfriend.
“i wish i could say the same.” bill shook her hand. tal’s smile fell and stan flinched.
“i was gonna try and meet up with you guys today and introduce tal to everyone.” stan told bill, who was still trying process what was happening.
“tr-tr-trying to meet up w-w-with people you haven’t talked to in d-days?” bill snapped. stan gripped his hands together and looked down.
“don’t b-bother. i’ll let everyone know. n-n-n—” he couldn’t force the words “nice to meet you” out to tal. partly because of his stutter, partly because if he was being honest, it wasn’t nice to meet her, not at all.
“bill, come on—”
"i’ll s-s-see you a-around, stan.“ bill licked his lips as he turned to leave the uris household.
he rushed down the stairs, rushing past mr. and mrs. uris, not bothering to say goodbye like he would normally do.
this isn’t good.

ok so if i didn’t make it clear enough, this is a modern day au, bill and stan are seventeen. okokokok, hope you enjoyed.

“Eddie!” Richie called up to his friend. Eddie suppressed a smile as Richie caught up to him.
“What do you want, Trashmouth?” Eddie questioned and Richie grinned, knowing it was more of a term of endearment.
“I wanted to ride home with you, Eddie Spaghetti.” Richie spoke, earning him an eye roll and a groan from the boy next to him.
“Stop calling me that.” Eddie whined. Richie loved his little nicknames for Eddie, and his friend was just too stubborn to admit he loved them too. “Sorry, Eds.” He chuckled as they mounted their bikes. “Don’t call me that either.”
“Well, I have to call you something.”
“How about my name?” Eddie suggested sarcastically.
“Nah.”
Richie did in fact bike with Eddie to his house, yelling about whatever mindless, inappropriate, and obscure jokes fell out of his mouth. Eddie only laughed, wondering how he got to be stuck with a friend like Richie. Such a vulgar loudmouth who acted as if he didn’t have a care in the whole goddamn world.
But he did.
Richie overcompensated with the dick jokes and yelling because it’s how he got attention.
Luckily Eddie Kaspbrak was more than willing to give it to him.
He loved seeing a genuine smile find it’s way onto Richie’s face and he would’ve given anything to keep it that way.
When he was fourteen he thought maybe it was because Richie was he friend, his best friend, of course he wanted what was best for him. However has fifteen and sixteen rolled around, he realized it was so much more than that— Richie was so much more to him than that. When he’d call him cute, pinch his cheeks, and compliment him constantly, jokingly, of course, he would get this feeling in the pit of his stomach that he couldn’t shake until he fell asleep. Eddie’s cheeks would burn red. He didn’t want to admit it but there was no other way to place how he felt.
He had a crush on Richie Tozier
The mere thought of it terrified him at first, he was panicking at the thought of liking Richie—of liking any boy, really—he couldn’t imagine how his friends would react, how his mother would react. He shuddered just thinking about it.
He tried to deny it for months. It stressed him out, it exhausted him. He didn’t want to do that to himself anymore, so one day he just gave up. Eddie was seventeen now and completely content with his crush on his best friend.
They’d made plans with the rest of the losers to go to a party later on, Eddie was hesitant at first, knowing his mother and all, but Bev and Richie continued to push it, so he agreed.
“Pick you up at eight, Eddie Spaghetti!” He remembered Richie yelling from a few hours prior.
“Party starts at seven, genius.” Eddie crossed his arms over his chest. Richie only shrugged. “Just be ready when I get here.” He told the other boy before speeding off to his own house.
Eddie had been dressed for an hour. It was Friday and he had nothing else to do, so figured he might as well get ready.
He sat patiently on his bed, finishing the homework that was due the following Monday before his phone started to ring. He let out a small shriek as his hand flew to his chest. “Jesus.” He muttered before grabbing the phone and answering angrily.
“Hello?”
“Eddie!” Bev’s happy voice came through the phone and Eddie slumped his shoulders.
“What’s up, B?” He rubbed his face with his free hand. “I’m picking you and Richie up.” She spoke quickly. He stopped and scrunched his eyebrows together.
“You got the car?” He asked as he felt the excitement bubbling in his chest. “I got the car!” She yelled happily. Eddie smiled wide. Bev had been working the graveyard shift at the local diner for months, they all saw the toll it took on her, but she’d been saving for a car and she finally got it.
Eddie was so proud of her.
“That’s so awesome.” He smiled warmly. He could feel her beaming through the phone.
“Thanks, Eds.” She answered with a sigh. Eddie rolled his eyes and did the same. “So, how was he today?” She asked curiously. Eddie scrunched up his nose and looked down.
“Total ray of sunshine, you know Richie.” Eddie lied and she grunted. “I don’t know how much longer I can keep doing this, Bev. I’m his friend, he only sees me as a friend. He talks about girls in front of me all the time.” He felt himself getting sadder as he messed with his socks.
He didn’t know why, but he felt that Beverly was one of the only people he could trust with his secret. He remembered that night he told her. It was cold and he decided he’d walk from the quarry back with her, and they were bonding. In the midst of that, he let it slip. he stayed quiet afterwards, so did Bev. He remembered how scared he was to hear what she had to say. How scared he was that she was gonna tell them— tell him.
But she didn’t.
After five minutes of silence, before Eddie could work up the courage to say something to her, she pulled him into a hug and whispered “Thank you for telling me.”
He wanted to cry, but he didn’t. He was just happy to finally have someone to talk about it with.
“Eddie,” Beverly snapped him out of his reverie. “Yeah,” He snapped his head quickly.
“Did you hear me?” She asked worriedly. Eddie’s eyes widened. She was talking?
“N-No, Bev. I’m sorry.” He mumbled. She sighed again, “I said that he likes you more than you think, believe me.” She mumbled and bit at the skin peeling on his bottom lip.
“I’ll be there soon, ok?” She speak after realizing he wasn’t going to talk anymore. “Yeah– Yeah, ok.” he nodded.
“Hey, Eddie.” She started. “Yeah, Bev?” He swallowed hard.
“I love you.” She sang jokingly and a smile cracked on his face once more.
“Love you too, Marsh.”
