I wonder how time even works in Lobotomy Corp (the game). As we all know, almost every single aspect of PM's games is in some way diagetic, and arguably most famously that includes the roguelite time loop mechanics of Lobotomy Corporation. However, how exactly this is implemented is kind of a mystery?
Canonically speaking, the TT2 protocol is activated tens if not hundreds of thousands of times as the days are reset again and again and again. However, even counting day resets, no playthrough will ever hit nearly that many resets. When I first thought of this, I initially thought that the "game" only takes place over the last handful of loops. On some level, I believe this to still be true! We can see in Library of Ruina that an immense number of the early loops happened very quickly as Angela was not following the script whatsoever. That said, it's also worth noting that when the player steps in that there's no progress in the Abno logs and no progress on the Seed of Light. For all intents and purposes, the TT2 protocol might as well have never activated before for all the progress we start with. But also also, even from the very beginning of the game, even as you first boot it up, Angela fucking hates you. And with this in mind, I can't quite come to a decision.
The closest thing I can come up with, barring the boring answer of "rare PM gameplay contrivance" is that Ayin and Angela simply weren't logging that information yet. Ayin, still X at the time, was never really going to think of it because he gets hard reset each time. I'd also like to believe that each reset on the Player's end is representative of hundreds or thousands of resets on Ayin's end.
Also... A small part of Yesod 5 in Ruina lightly implies that the X persona might not have always existed and that it was developed much later, which might have something to do with it? Either way, I guess, no matter what, it was at least implemented in a cool way.
Your stuff is always so pretty!! :3 If you're taking requests, a Lobco layout would be so cool nyaaa (´ω`) I love your work! (*^▽^*)
