Is that your REAL hair??
Hey JOURNEY SISTAZ!
MSJ here again on my soapbox tip, Ha! Thought I would stop by the abode and speak on this topic that has been the main question I get asked which is, "Is that your real hair? All that's yours?". Yes it is, all 390 individual locs are mine. No kenekalon, toyokalon, yarn, thread, or any other materials. It is done with a tool that mimics a knitting tool. The technique is very intricate and under the strict rules and regulations of the company that our locs are named under, I can't go too deep in. I know... same look I had when I was inquiring about getting my locs as well.
I wear my hair in different colors that are vibrant and some people can't understand how someone's hair can look that vibrant and be real strands of hair. Its so interesting to see the look on the inquirer's face when I tell them, "Yes, this is all mine". With a smile on my face. Before I know it, I am going into education mode and sharing information with them. I always say to the women who are wearing braids, faux locs, etc. is that, "Imagine you getting those pretty locs that you love and never have to take them out like you have to with the braids, etc". That normally leads to a huge smile and more questions. Why spend $200 & up every 2 months (not including the cost of that commercial material) to have a look like what we have?? These people complain about the price, but you do the math! So I'm grateful I made the decision to do the math, invest in my hair and now, I dont have to wear commercial materials in my hair, I can just say with a beautiful smile on my face.... Yes this is all my hair!
Do you get this question a lot?
