TO TOUCH OR NOT TO TOUCH?
Heyyyyy my LOC QUEENZ! Thought I'd bring up a topic that's been around since our grandmother's grandmother was alive. Which is, "Don't touch my hair!" with an immediate side eye. Wonder where that originated from? Was it when our grandmother's grandmother was being watched by the master's wife while she brushed her curly tresses, only to be asked what does she do to get her hair curly like that? To then curiosity getting the best of her and without any warning she touches boldly! I can see that immediate "side eye" on our grandmother's grandmother's face with her thinking, "Oh no you didn't". No matter what style we rocked, it was always a request to touch. Can you remember when you first went natural/relaxer free? Was that not the most interesting time in your hair life?? Lol. Now we're LOC QUEENZ and these "hair touchers" are coming out the wood work! Lol. Don't get me wrong, I will let you touch my hair for certain reasons... If your a fellow loc queen and we're vibin' and comparing notes, or if you are inquiring about locs. I am someone who loves to educate people on Sisterlocks, and your number one cheerleader during the deciding process all the way throughout. I can just do without the random touches, and ignorant comments and questions. All I say is, ask before you touch and I dont mind. Be genuine with your inquiries and concerns, and I will more than happy to share.
So whats your thoughts? To touch or not to touch?
