28. Do you need background noise to write? If so, what do you listen to?

i honestly don’t know...it really depends on the situation! sometimes i really need silence, but otherwise, i like to listen to this spotify playlist which is instrumental. and if i’m really feeling in it, i will listen to the playlists i make for the fic itself! if i haven’t made a playlist for the fic, i’ll listen to a playlist for the ship itself! and if it’s an original work i’ll usually just go for instrumental:)

49.Where do you draw inspiration from?

ahhh this is such a good question :D

i get some inspo for starting a new wip (too many, too many) from a new piece of media that just came out for the fandom. like when the clone wars season 7 came out, i started getting all these post-order 66 ideas for star wars.

but mostly, i get ideas from lines of poetry, song lyrics (song lyrics! oh my god YES), and then i gather all the little scraps from those pieces from information, combined with that sense of wanting to know more, and sometimes, when write do a modern au, a splash of irritation at the world

(in fact, that’s probably the only way i usually will write a modern au lol...out of the 6 modern aus i’ve written, 3 are covid-based, 2 are political/social-based, and 1 is a love-hate letter to catholicism. lmao.)

but for non-modern aus, it’s really writing events that help, combined with song lyrics/poetry, and even people’s edits/fanart!
