Bing Ads, Says Goodbye To Phone Numbers In PPC Ad Copy
Advertisers will need to use call or location extensions to display phone numbers.
Bing Ads advertisers will soon no longer be able to put a phone number in the headline, body copy, URL or extensions like Sitelinks. As with AdWords, they’ll need to use location or call extensions for phone numbers.
From February 2015 in the United States, United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Taiwan, phone numbers will only be allowed through the use of Call Extensions or Location Extensions. The ad, title, body, URL, and any other ad extensions, such as Sitelink Extensions, can no longer feature phone numbers in plain text.
Note that this change will take effect in February 2015for new campaigns only. Existing campaigns will not be affected by this change until June 2015, provided that you do not make any changes to those existing campaigns.
