The Cuillin Hills climb abruptly from Loch Scavaig on south-central side of the Isle of Skye, Scotland.

Loch Scavaig Hailstorm - Explore No.50 - 07.06.2020 by MuddyBoots. Yet another shot from the February trip up to the Isle of Skye. This was the second time we visited Elgol on this trip and we were very fortunately accompanied by SkyeWeasel who took us to some of lesser well-known spots. The weather in the image wasn't a unique event on this trip and was indicative of what was happening almost every half hour. Large ominous clouds would come rolling in from the West, accompanied by sharp downpours of hail, and then shortly to be followed by blue skies and bright sunshine, which was then followed by large ominous clouds rolling in from the West - rinse and repeat. The mood was constantly changing and the light was mesmerising. On this day we were stood on the shoreline below the cliffs to the south of Elgol which gave an excellent view of the distant Cuillin mountains, and some great leading lines from the rock strata on the beach.
