🦋 LoFi Facts: Ania

✦ Ania greatly respects the Grand Nagus Rom for all the improvements and changes he brought to Ferenginar. The same can't be said towards his brother Quark, who's grown a reputation for himself. She only knows Quark on a very surface level though, so her opinions of him are (self-admittedly) biased. She did meet Quark once briefly during a Charity fundraiser that was organized by Rom, in which he dismissed her when she asked him for Eliminator Leck's contact information. That experience certainly didn't help her already bad opinion of him, even though she would begrudgingly admit that the time and place to ask Quark about Leck was terrible. All in all, Ania can be biased and holds grudges for a long time when she feels wronged or she strongly dislikes someone.

✦ As for Eliminator Leck, Ania eventually organized the contact information herself. She didn't need his services to eliminate someone (much to Leck's dismay), but to provide protection while she's in a dangerous place to collect a rare and precious beetle called Latinum Longhorn. Attempts to exterminate the beetles were made because they're said to consume the rare Latinum deposits on the planet. So, the majority of the Ferengi are not too fond of that bug, as you can imagine.

✦ In terms of other canon Ferengi, Ania mostly only heard and usually doesn't really care much about them (except Rom's kids ofc). She for example knows that Quark's criminal cousin Gaila got caught and arrested because of a bounty hunter whose name has been censored everywhere. She heard that Brunt is no longer a Liquidator and tends to a different business, but that's as far as her knowledge goes.

✦ Ania can handle the phaser gun she has with her for self-defense, but is not particularly great at using it. Aiming at targets is easier when they are still, but not so much when they're constantly moving and refuse to stand still... but that said, she will be using her gun (that is always set to stun) when she feels threatened. Which can easily happen when she's out in the wild and realizing that she's not alone.

List of Locations: Ania

Generally speaking, Ania is outdoors a lot. She is not really the cozy staying-at-home type and enjoys adventures. She loves shopping and visits at coffee shops or restaurants though, especially after she's back from a research trip.

Ferenginar Ferenginar is the homeplanet of the Ferengi, located at the Alpha Quadrant and generally (in)famous for its constant rainy weather. Ferenginar itself has a vast selection of amphibians and invertebrates suited to the humid and rainy climate, which Ania is known to be very versed of by now.

Her Research-Ship, the Hooyup Ania has her own spaceship, which makes her very flexible. She can easily visit different worlds to research their local amphibians and bugs. She is breeding amphibians and bugs within her ship, too. There are plenty of terrariums as well as plants to be found. She often hires fellow researchers to help her, or bodyguards when she goes into dangerous terrain.

@onboardsaltedcaramel-old Headcanon question is: to show at least three umbrellas they would willingly use, but whom to aim it at, that is the question... Bolin and Ania?

Ania prefers raincoats to keep her hands free to do work. It rains constantly on Ferenginar, so she is used to rain and how to deal with it in practical ways. But if she had to chose three umbrellas, they would have to be cute, colorful or flowery. Or everything together.

Anything big enough to cover not just himself but whomever Bolin is with, so he can be a good friend (or gentleman) and offer some protection from the rain. He does like umbrellas in natural/autumnal colors, but utility goes over design when it comes to such things.

🐸 — That's a problem indeed. The shuttle is steered by two colleagues that were about to enter the Hooyup but needed help due to a defunct docking module. They also have a container with rare frogs with them that the researchers recovered from Bajor.

"Computer, deactivate the tractor beam." It's pointless if it doesn't work anyway.

"The shuttle's life functions are still operational for another 30 minutes, if they turn off everything else, right? We'll need to fix the tractor beam in time. That... at least seems easier to me than going outside in a space suit to fix the shuttle's docking module."

Ania is mainly a Raktajino girly. Nothing beats a Klingon coffee. Though, she does enjoy Earth's coffees too, when she gets the opportunity to drink one (across space, some drinks are harder to find in Food Replicators than others). She likes Pumpkin Spice Lattes and Cappuccinos in particular.

She also likes Tea, especially Green Tea and fresh, herbal ones. She is not opposed to more tangy Teas too. But when she needs a kick to get through the day, a harsh, slightly sweetened Raktajino it is.

Lemme tell you about Ania's whole ship at large =) Her research ship is called Hooyup, named after the hooyup trees on Ferenginar. A Bot is piloting the ship, so she doesn't have to rely on a crew. Its maximum speed is Warp 9.8 (for short bursts) and it is armed with phaser weapons. She rarely uses them though, they are there for self-defense only.

Ania uses a big part of the ship's storage space for lab compartments that are necessary for her researches and explorations. Even more so if she is out with a hired crew. The living quarters are roomy and come with a small sonic shower, recyclers for clothes as well as food replicators with a modest selection of foods and drinks. One can get their coffees and teas in their quarters. Ania's own quarter as such is filled with plants and terrariums that need special care and overview.

The ship has a curved, wing-like shape, often compared to a beetle or bird of prey. The forward hull section can extend outward for docking functions.

Grum, when having built their own workshop, is living in the backroom of it. A small and modest space with plenty of room to work on smaller and bigger personal projects. There is also a large round window that provides enough light for any alien plant they grow.

They sleep inside their floating Utrom pod. It is padded to be extra comfortable for sleep but also being in it for most of the day while doing repairs or building specific requests for customers.
