Muse Call: Bolin

I'm trying to go onto this a little more organized here. And to make things easier on myself as a multimuse, I will post those little muse calls to see where my partners' interests lie. You can find all Muse Calls under the #Muse Call tag.

@onboardsaltedcaramel-old Headcanon question is: to show at least three umbrellas they would willingly use, but whom to aim it at, that is the question... Bolin and Ania?

Ania prefers raincoats to keep her hands free to do work. It rains constantly on Ferenginar, so she is used to rain and how to deal with it in practical ways. But if she had to chose three umbrellas, they would have to be cute, colorful or flowery. Or everything together.

Anything big enough to cover not just himself but whomever Bolin is with, so he can be a good friend (or gentleman) and offer some protection from the rain. He does like umbrellas in natural/autumnal colors, but utility goes over design when it comes to such things.

🪨 — Whatever mild annoyance Bolin felt for Mox to not follow up as discussed is now completely gone. Instead, the teen is worried. And feels bad, too.

"Uh– are you really okay? We can abort the heist and uh... try again tomorrow?"

Bolin knows Mako will get very mad at him if he learns about any of this, though. The faster they get inside the villa and get the goods, the better. But, he definitely didn't want someone to get hurt in the process.

After glancing down, with his fire ferret Pabu perching on his head, Bolin looks around like a jolted doe. It seems no one heard the ladder breaking, at least.

"I could try breaking a hole in the wall to make an entrance, buuut I'm pretty sure they would hear that..."

There are still moments where Bolin attempts metal bending. He just thinks metal bending is really really badass, you know? It's not that he's not proud about being a lava bender, he is obviously very happy he can do something so rare and special.

But every now and then he catches himself still trying to shape pieces of metal, out of sheer stubbornness. And he's still a little abashed when he's caught trying.

Leon's job requires him to travel all the time and, if not fighting infected calamities, to maintain a low profile. Between moving from hotel to hotel during work, he has moved his own home so often at this point that he lost count. So with that in mind, it comes as little surprise that his own residence is a lot more humble than his equipment, attire or the car he's driving. Why bother decorating when he's traveling a lot?

Regardless of personal home or hotel room, Leon likes his abode to be clean, simple and practical. He used to be a lot more messy and chaotic in his younger years, but he's become more organized and efficient over time. Too much clutter slows him down. His travel equipment is basically half-packed at all times to be ready for a fast depart. Weapons and tactical gear is locked in a government-issued storage crate if not in use.

I like to think that Leon, especially as he gets older, has more troubles settling and staying somewhere for long. But while being definitely more experienced and organized now, there are still traces of young Leon left. He is not a military man, he has been forced into learning to adapt quickly.

There might be the presence of dried snacks he forgot to eat, or unfinished reports because he's been too busy with basically everything else. Dark curtains that he stopped bothering about either way and spaces he never really uses and just doesn't care enough to free from any dust.

For my own sanity, I just purely HC this regardless of what is or isn't there in Canon. Bolin's room has a large Fire Ferrets poster on the wall, next to small advertisement pamphlets and photos he has gathered and kept for memory.

There is a tiny bed for Pabu and a large one for Naga, whenever Korra needs her to stay somewhere. Bolin loves animals, so he has no issue with providing a space for her. There are also chewing toys and balls for Pabu and Naga to play with.

Under his bed, Bolin stores an old locked box with his most precious equipments and memorabilia. He is still holding onto his Pro-Bending Gear and costume from his time as a Mover Star.

There are dumbbells and earth bending training weights to train outside with as well as a variety of clothes and costumes for different occasions.

🪨 — He had seen that woman before, but it takes him embarrassingly long to pin-point where. But that's right, she's hanging around Varrick a lot as of lately. Something-something his new bodyguard? He's impressed actually that she seemingly hasn't quit that job yet. It's already a lot to be Zhu-Li's assistant and constantly having to deal with his antics.

"Huh?" Not the kind of question he anticipated if he had to be honest. "Youuu... mean by way of greeting, right? I really prefer hugs, actually. You're... Varrick's bodyguard, right? Nice to meet you, I'm Bolin."

🪨 — Bolin returns the hug because he's all about friendly greetings and (bear-) hugs. He doesn't really mind the cheek kisses either, but he's not returning those. He's more of a happy hugger when among his friends anyway.

"Heyyy, I haven't seen you around here in a bit. What have you been up to? I think Varrick asked the other way about you. Buuuut I dunno what he wanted, he already went on about something completely different before I could ask." He shrugs awkwardly.
