Loft Café, 3882 W 6th St., Los Angeles (Koreatown), CA 90020, Score: 30/50
I’ve seen Loft Café many times…but I only just learned that they’ve been serving froyo for years. So, it was time for a visit. Loft Café is Korean dessert café in Koreatown. It’s spacious and comfortable, the kind of place you go to with a friend to hang out and catch up. It’s probably busier at night.
Score: 30/50
Food: 2/5 – The plain froyo tasted fine but it melted fast and wasn’t firm enough. They also have shaved ice, waffles, cake, salads, and sandwiches.
Coffee: 3/5 – They have coffee, espresso drinks, tea and fresh juice. I didn’t try anything but I did notice that the drinks are expensive. There are unique Korean drinks on the menu though, like Korean honey tea, Korean style coffee and sweet potato lattes.
Wi-fi: 5/5 – Free, unlimited, fast, ask for the password
Ambiance: 3/5 – A mix of different styles in a dark room, two levels, brick wall, wood beams, with a velvet banquette, old piano and disco ball. It looks like an old European bistro café but not everything is on theme. I do like that it’s dark and quiet inside.
Noise: 5/5 – Calming music, quiet
Plugs: 2/5 – I didn’t see any but it’s dark inside and the walls are very dark
Parking: 1/5 – Not easy – good luck finding any. If you’re lucky, you’ll find free 2 hour street parking
Comfort: 4/5 – Plenty of space, leather chairs, padded leather banquettes
Bathroom: 3/5 – One unisex restroom that was clean
Art: 2/5 – Didn’t see any
Tips: You could try parking at California Marketplace and walking over.
