the best part of sea of stars really is reuenthal and mittermeyer just standing there like lumps bc they can’t decide if they want to join in a fight, and then trailing after kircheis to look threatening... it was delightful in a way i absolutely could not express to the people who were watching for the first time

#the period of reinhard's ascension where his only allies were kircheis + the souhekis - very good #but sea of stars taps into a deeper niche which is kircheis + souhekis + mecklinger just kind of there #mecklinger: has maybe one line of dialogue but sure does have to live through all of this!#loghblogh

as established i keep a folder of logh screencaps, but i also have one single arusen cap saved to my computer and it’s this one:

watching the arslan anime and the logh ova are wildly different experiences while reading the novels are nightmarishly similar, but in this one moment they managed to capture the Tanakas Is The Same energy of just being a real bitch to your best friends. all the time.

#i haven't thought about naryun in a long time but it's still so very good #anyway i've only read the first arusen novel [in french] and that was written concurrently with the last few loghs #so the book experience may have diverged in the past 30 years...#...which is the vibe i get from my jp and canto-reading friends #loghblogh #what was my arslan tag!!!
