Tony had a dream, a really good dream at the moment actually somewhat in the fashion of him and Loki and some Piña Coladas. The sun was burning, the breeze was light and the saltiness of the ocean filled his lungs with every breath. He opened his eyes behind his dark shades and turned his head towards Loki on his sunbed right next to him, smiled and reached out a hand to touch a strand of black hair. Loki looked up at him, one of his Godlike smiles across his face which always made Tony’s damage heart jump and he opened his mouth to speak. But no words ever left those thin lips; instead it was a hissing very much like the sound of an angry cat. The scene in front of him turned into a blur and Tony closed his eyes hard and just wished it would stop. When he opened his eyes again there were no beach, no sun, no Piña Coladas and no Loki, only the hard surface of his desk in his workshop. Slowly he lifted his head and rubbed his forehead, did he really faceplant into his desk? He stretched and yawned loudly as he checked the time on his wrist watch. 12:33 am. Shit, why hadn’t anyone bothered to wake him up? Didn’t he mean anything? Didn’t anyone miss him? How long had he been sleeping?
His train of thoughts were suddenly disturbed by the hissing sound that reminded him of an angry cat again and he immediately looked around to try and locate the source of the sound. He couldn’t find it.
“Jarvis, is that you making that sound?” Stupid question, of course it wasn’t Jarvis. “Negative sir, but may I suggest you go check up on Dummy?” What? Dummy? He quirked an eyebrow at the AI, he knew something and wasn’t telling Tony about it. He didn’t like his creations to keep secrets from him. He stood up and straightened his shirt and pulled a hand through his hair to make himself look somewhat presentable for whatever he might find and ignored the little pool of drool that had formed on his desk. If he didn’t see it then it didn’t exist.
As he walked over to where he last had seen Dummy in his workshop the hissing sound got stronger but also the sound of a moving Dummy reached him. Did he have a cat? Maybe it was a stray that had snuck in when someone forgot to close the door. Someone was about to get fired, so fired. He stopped dead at his track when he saw the now puffed up, and obviously angry, black cat. A smirk spread across Tony’s face as he crossed his arms over his chest as he watched the scene play out in front of him. “I see you’ve met Dummy then,” he said teasingly and the black cat turned its head to look at him with piercing green eyes before it turned back to Dummy who also ‘looked’ up at Tony as he spoke. He knew Loki didn’t like his robots and didn’t understand them but it was so much fun to watch. Dummy on the other hand didn’t seem to know what to do with the angry thing in front of him and Tony had a feeling that he was going to get doused anytime soon. He really should donate him.
“No, no, no Dummy, don’t even think about it! Stand down,” he said as he stepped in to pick up Loki the cat from the floor into his arms. Loki didn’t relax much and he kept his eyes on the very scary robot as it followed him up and before neither one of them knew it they were both doused. Tony just stood there, closing his eyes, mentally counting to ten and a exhausted sigh. Why him? Why was he surrounded by idiots? “What did I just say?” He glared at Dummy who sadly lowered its extinguisher arm as Tony walked away with the cat still in his arms. “Stupid robot, should have donated him before needs a brain of its own,” he muttered as he climbed the stairs up to the now dark main floor of the house. He knew it though as his own back pocket and took long stride towards his bedroom where he put Loki on the bed while he started to undress. It was late, he was angry; he needed some sleep before he had to go meet some idiots in a boring meeting that he didn’t really pay attention to anyway. Ha crawled under the covers with a big sigh and closed his eyes. Soon he felt strong arms embrace him from behind and warm lips pressed against his neck. He leaned back against that strong chest and turned his head to look into those green eyes of Loki and was met by one of those Godlike smiles that made Tony’s damage heart jump. “Robots are stupid,” he said and pouted. Tony just laughed and pressed his lips to Lokis. “You’ll learn to love them. Are you staying the night?” He asked quietly but hopefully as he traced the other mans jaw with his fingers. “Yes,” was all he got and Tony smiled a week smile as he put his head back down on his pillow with a content deep breath. “Good,” was all he said before he drifted off to sleep.
