in stranger things, that episode (at the risk of spoiling) was a huge moment of queer representation with will byers. many devoted fans are very dissatisfied with the execution of the scene and the rest of volume 2 of season 5.
therefore, they've review bombed the episode down to a 5.4/10 in hopes of signalling netflix that their writing is bad. not only was the episode really not deserving of a rating QUITE that low, but adding to the bad ratings like this is only creating an atmosphere of homophobia surrounding the show.

therefore, regardless of whether you liked the episode or even watch stranger things, i implore you to go and rate it a 10/10. we need to be telling them we like explicit queer rep, and then they can work on improving the execution next. but rating it low is not going to have the intended outcome!

yes, i understand expectations were higher. critique is good! but in the current political and social climate, having any scene like this in a very, very mainstream show is already a step in the right direction. by review bombing the episode, we're not telling them that we don't like the execution, just that no one wants explicit queer rep. then we get more people like elon musk saying this shit, and not only is there no improvement, but we don't get rep at all. you're being looped in with the homophobes.

this is probably the most common problem i've seen so far?
imdb requires an amazon account to create an account, which you need to rate the episode.
however this actually doesn't take anything but a random email address! you don't have to put anything substantial in and you can just never touch that account ever.
first, go to imdb. see where it says "sign in" in the top right corner? tap there.
you'll be redirected here. now tap "create an account".
i know it looks off putting! but tap "create your amazon account".
do all of this! all you need really is any random email, you don't need an actual name to input or anything.
cant show this part bc i have no more emails to make accounts, but itll ask for a verification code and send it to the email you used. input that and boom! you have an imdb account.
you can make as many of these as you like!
(disclaimer: i've heard that there's been a couple issues with this although i'm not sure what's been happening. tell me if smth happens and maybe send a screenshot or smth?)

honestly, valid. if you're a casual watcher or literally haven't even watched the show that makes sense. but it would be really really cool if you did! you'd be helping us fight homophobia in not just the stranger things fanbase, but also laying the groundwork for more explicit queer rep (that will improve past this scene!) in other mainstream shows in the future.
