“Next time we have to choose who is going to get someone’s help, I call not it.” Clint hissed into his com before more or less ignoring what the rest of the team wanted to say. 

This whole thing was a load of bullshit. Of all the people to draw the short straw and have to go get Loki, L-O-K-I, it was, of course, himself. Because that was his kind of luck. So now here he was, at Loki’s last known location (thanks Thor but why not just take his place instead?) trying his best not to look totally pissed off (failing) so that he could ask the witch from space for help with an artifact that no one else can seem to get any information about. Because letting Loki near artifacts always worked so well. Oh. And that was his job too. Watch Loki so that he doesn’t somehow trick them. Because Clint has never ever been tricked by Loki ever and he in no way holds a horrible grudge against him. 

Everyone in the Tower was gonna be getting pranked for this.

“Loki! SHIELD needs to speak with you!” Very smooth. Very subtle. Clint cared so much about either right now.

Loki swallowed hard but didn’t recoil at her words.

“You would only like it if I wrapped my slender fingers around your throat,” he said with a hoarse voice, trying to gain control of the situation. Yet he couldn’t still his rapid beating heart nor suppress his breathing that came in shallow gasps.

“Try me!” Damn, he had not just said that! Oh, but he had…

“Perhaps I would like it, perhaps not. I’ve never tried it, but surely such experimental play is not an issue for you...” She said coyly, taking a step forward.. and another.. and another until she stood with the tip of her shoe inches from his.

Her brows rose slightly and she looked up at him under long lashes. “Try you? Try you.. What?” Lyra pushed her hands forward, smoothing up the leather of his shirt and resting around his neck. “Because I would indeed like to try all of you. Just, not the way I believe you are thinking of.”

Hela on Earth

Hela hadn’t been in this dimension, or on this planet, for very long. She was still regaining her powers, but could tell well enough when someone else of a similar origin to her own was around - in this dimension, on this planet. This being said, she began to try and find who it was. Where they were. At some point, it had occurred to her, that the person whose presence she’d sensed, was likely from either this dimension or another; she already knew that whoever it was couldn’t have come from her own dimension. Only she and her wolf, Garmir, had survived. Her own dimension was no longer existent. 

Regardless of that, Hela decided to look anyway. What harm could it do, anyway?

Her search took her to a town, though not a specific place in it. Certain that her presence would be easy enough to sense by whomever it was that she’d followed here, Hela sat in the park with her wolf, and waited to see what would happen.

Loki smiled at the other but he could keep the wryness from his features as a couple of memories decided to enter his brain at precisely that moment.

“Don’t siblings always do?” he muttered under his breath before he continued on a much more certain tone, “though I’m curious, what do you value in life?”

Taneleer sat back and took a drink as he thought over Loki’s question, Taneleer’s voice quieter as he repeated it, “What do I value in life?”

Taneleer gestured toward the door where his slave was, “I value life itself...” Taneleer then gestured to some of the bronze artifacts that decorated the room, “And I value preservation. Without any efforts, cultures would be forgotten, unknown after they fall... I value keeping memories alive through any means possible...”

Friend or Foe

Had it been just another simple, Asgardian presence she felt, perhaps her actions would have come to a stop; however, her mind told her otherwise. Whoever it was, Whatever it was, she had managed to locate, it was frighteningly quiet. Those without a mind to trek here she would know, but this, this was someone who knew what they were doing. Who knew where they were sneaking around in, and what was going on.

Still, she did not raise her head to look, nor did she even acknowledge their presence until she had finished her work, or at least got to a stopping point. The necromancer could feel eyes beading into the back of her head, watching every little movement of her hands, every gesture of her head and the breath that made her chest rise and fall with each intake.

At the moment she was busy stitching together a few body parts things from the craft mess she had made. My, had this taken longer than she had expected... But now came the fun. Lyra was simply busy studying the movement of the muscles, ligaments, what drew it all together, animated an inanimate body. Right now, she had made only unintelligible, immovable failures as she deemed them.

“You know, only so many get to experience a master at work. Holding the life of a precious human in their hands, nurturing it back to health... Had you been someone else I would have heard you gag, perhaps even scream, by now. I’m impressed by your tenacity and the gut you have, but my question comes... Why have you wandered to this forbidden place of the palace? Surely you must know it is unorthodox to be in here.”

Eir had told her to remain in the castle even though her shift had ended in case she needed her. Wren highly doubted it, but she obeyed. As she left the royal library, she bumped into someone. “Oh!
