I had planned to finish Fenris today but his tattoos are WAY more complicated than I first thought ::dies:: At least I can start rendering him tonight. The bottom half of his tattoos are made up, as I don't even think a proper ref for them exists. The top is straight from a character designer of DA2 so at least those are legit.

Alistair is also in the works (I think Kicks finished inking him today) and to round out the romance choices I kinda wanna do a dwarf? Varric? Oghren? thorin or fili or kili

addressing specific things:

there's no evidence in teen wolf that doesn't point derek to being native american. it's sort of like the posts going around about how harry potter's race is never mentioned, and POCpotter makes so much more sense than whitepotter. being native american doesn't necessarily have any bearing on derek's personality, but it does on his cultural standpoint and his relatability to POC. this is a good headcanon, because it's something that canon doesn't touch directly (or that straight up isn't addressed and everyone assumes derek to be white bc hoech is white).

andddddd i already talked about the sexual v asexual thing for tony.

addressing general things:

because marvel is a huge multiverse, it's hard to say what's canon and what isn't. comparing mcu!avengers against 616!avengers yields very different characters that have obviously set on similar, yet diverging paths. could there be a verse where ace!tony exists? sure, but not the tony that exists in popular canon verses.

but even more general. it's sort of like.

claiming a character is gay, even though they have been shown to have successful relationships with another sex. it's not that character, because that history has been disregarded.

the whole thing about thg's rue being black. taking her blackness away from her takes away the impact of that character in context of modern american culture.

on the positive side, one of the best forms of altering canon to fit cultural sentiment is the change from a redhead!annie to a black!annie. the canon changes, but the sentiment and the reaction that canon brought within the context of redhead!annie's original intended audience remains more accurate with a black!annie and our modern culture.

and back to specifics bc i can't fucking stay away:

and like. what was it about tony? i remember reading something about how iron man was written as a challenge to make a dislikable character likable--which means that sleazy ass playboy is part of that image. part of tony's "charm" is that he's the 1%. he's the image of the fucker who's screwing all the marginalized people over. why on earth would you want him as your poster boy for the most marginalized group within the sexuality spectrum?
