A theory
So I believe that the TVA we see in the Loki series is not governed by the Time Keepers, but the Time Twisters. They are the opposites of the Keepers and strive to break up the timeline rather than keep it together. The reason is that Mobius mentiones vampires, and in my knowledge, only the Time Twisters dealt with vampires. Plus, the logo is an hour glass in the form of a twisted loop. So when Loki is sent to the TVA by Sylvie, he is sent to where the actual Time Keepers are. That's why Mobius doesn't recognize him.
Loki: INFJ (the advocate)
So I finally decided that Loki is an INFJ. I was stuck between INFJ and ENFJ but I’ll get back to that later. So here’s why:
Loki is an introvert. At least in Thor and Dark World. I think we can all agree on that. He also loves symbols and metaphors (”An ant has no quarrel with a boot.” in Avengers and “If I am for the axe, then, for mercy’s sake just swing it!” in Dark World) and is great in “predicting the future”. Which all speaks for dominant Ni. Though it might not seem at first sight, Loki is good at “soaking up” the feelings of others. This auxiliary function Fe helps him a lot to manipulate others and especially their feelings. Also Loki plans a lot and often things rational. This would speak for a xxTx type, right? No. Because despite his rational thinking it often depends on his emotions and feelings. Loki is a very feelings driven person. And after all INFJs are the most rational thinkers of the feelers. He also is a perfectionist and seeks precision, tho it seems to be difficult for him to express his ideas and ways of thinking correctly. For example in Thor he tells the destroyer to “Make sure Thor does not return. Destroy everything.” which the destroyer misunderstood as to kill Thor and everyone and everything in his way. Therefore tertiary Ti. And lastly inferior Se which we can see in action in Thor when in the end of the movie Thor appears and destroys Loki’s plan, which leads to Loki panicking and making the decision to destroy all of Jotunheim. And for the J in the INFJ is obviously because he has strict beliefs, ideals and plans which have to be followed, if not it can make him panic as he is not good at improvising. Now you might think that Loki can’t be an INFJ because INFJs hate conflicts and usually try to prevent them and all Loki wants is to fight and have a war. But does he? Thor is a good example because Loki there is in fact so afraid of a war that he does anything possible to keep Thor away from Asgard because Thor did want a war.
Now what about the ENFJ side of Loki? Well I thought about the Avengers movie and since he was under the influence of the Chitauri at that time, it also affected some of his personality traits. ENFJs are story tellers and teachers. Loki is a big story teller in the Avengers and sees himself as a teacher. he constantly tries to tech the Avengers things like “Freedom is life’s great lie.” and so on. And who’s the most manipulative type of the NFs? Exactly. ENFJs are. And since my mum is an ENFJ I noticed that there were a lot of similarities in behaving and thinking, tho my mum isn’t that extreme of course.
But all in all Loki is a great example of an INFJ gone sour and shows the very dark side of every INFJ.
In the end I want to mention that I’m not an expert and still new to the myers briggs test and haven’t fully figured out how the cognitive functions of personality types work. But I hope this helped. :) Also let me know what you think about Loki’s personality type, since he is a very difficult character.
And thanks to @sweaterwithpaintstains for helping me with this.
Sorry for the long post. Here, have a cute Loki:
Wait, if there are that many Loki’s with their own personalities and styles, surely their timelines diverged from the “sacred timeline” for a relatively long time before they were pruned… like if you get what I’m saying. Loki being anybody other than Tom Hiddleston should’ve caused a nexus event immediately… bc these are all lokis with wildly different lives and faces and bodies, what caused their nexus events? And why didn’t they happen immediately after shapeshifting? Eg Sylvie literally being BORN female, why wasn’t she captured at birth? ygm?
So let's talk about Thor's coronation scene.
Something I only noticed on my jillionth rewatch today.
Note how everyone is posed on the dais. The "guests of honour," if you will. The (male) Warriors Three are on one side of the throne (Odin's left, our right): Hogun, Fandral and Volstagg. Who's on the left? Frigga, and Sif, who is still a woman even if she is a warrior.... and Loki.
Yes, so there's three to either side, for balance. But I *don't* think this is a coincidence.
Loki's with the women.
I think this is a nod to mythology and ancient culture: that his magic (his seiðr) marks him as womanish, as argr.
Thoughts?
