Doctor/Companion AU. Time Lady Inquisitor/Companion!Cullen.

The Inquisitor and Cullen stepped out of the TARDIS. 

“Welcome Cullen,” The Inquisitor said, “to the planet of moonbeams.” The sun was setting around ancient tress that were rounder than both of them put together, but the real beauty of this place would be coming in…

5… 4… 3….

“Moonbeams?” Cullen asked… 2… “Why is it called…?”

He stopped as a simmering ray of light reappeared and all too soon disappeared in from of him. This happened several more times all around them. Cullen beamed and the Inquisitor smiled. She liked seeing Cullen happy. He had seen far too much sadness in his life. She had hoped bringing him to this place of shimmering moonbeams would make him happy, and it had. Good. 

“This place,” The Inquisitor said. “Has 12 moons, the most in any galaxy. All that moonlight sort of… Pools together and you get this.”

“This is magnificent, Inquisitor!” Cullen said. “Thank you for bringing me.”

Making Cullen happy wasn’t the main reason she’d wanted to bring him here. Part of her had had grand illusions of processing feelings of deep romantic attraction to Cullen here, and asking him whether or not he could love an ageless Time Lady. 

But now that she was here… She was filled with fear. What if he rejected her? She might be 740, but she was still afraid he might not feel the same. She was probably a fool for thinking he’d want to be with an ageless old alien anyway. She ran a hand through her red hair. She had to collect herself. 

“I--erm, Y-You’re very wel-welcome, Cullen,” she said.
