I would love to hear your opinion about Longmen Express ^_^

I really like Longmen Express very much even though I understood probably half of it.  It’s very fresh, quirky, and overall a fun and intelligent take on the Wuxia genre.  I think a lot of young people really enjoyed it, but I wouldn’t say the older generations would.  I showed it to my father, but he didn’t really find it interesting or funny, just thought it was weird.

Basically the drama series is weird, but in a good way.  I find that having a piano, chandelier, leather sofas in the Wuxia series is hilarious.   Having the characters go to a clothing store to buy some of the hottest fashion worn by Guo Jing and DFBB is so clever - as I would imagine that trend happening during that time.  Having a girl character fangirling over hot guys is how I would imagine myself if there were cute, martial artists roaming around in front of me!

I really love it - all the tidbits, all the guest appearances, and all the cross references!  I really wished it would be translated into English, but I know that if it were - most of the original context would be lost in translation.

For those who love Longmen Express, I would definitely recommend it’s prequel: My Owns Swordsman (both drama series and anime version).

Have you watch Longman Express? it finished today and its so good. :D highly recommend

No, I haven’t finished watching it yet.  I got kind of side track from watching Animated Movies, Lakorn, and Bad Romantic.  I’ve skimmed through all the episodes except for the last 5 episodes and only watched a few that like.  It’s a great drama so far and want to understand every bits of it - but my Chinese is so wishy-washy…that sometimes I understand it and sometimes I don’t.  =/  However, I’ll probably watch the whole thing with my dad when I head back to Cali and have him explain some of the details for me. =)
