the duet is beautiful. their vast range between their voices manage to melt together so beautifully, but are still distinct

the way they harmonize gives such a mimics the way actual people talk, or more specifically how couples argue. it’s the image of a real relationship. they talk over each other, they insist on their own point on view being right. the whole song is a big “i gave you signs, you never listened.” “you never gave me signs”. this happens so often. people don’t want to communicate. it’s so weird how easy it could be. everyone has pride and often don’t want to admit it. it comes in different forms; people give it different names. defensiveness, knowing better. it’s all the same bs.
