Alright y'all, it's question time... When is the last time you spent money on yourself. I mean truly on yourself. ✋Not my old sneakers were so worn out I finally caved and bought a new pair. ✋Not I bought this new comforter so my bed would look pretty, but also because the washer chewed up the last one. ✋Not I bought this ice cream as a treat, but also because I was so stressed out from the kids, and my partner, or work. ✋Not we are taking a family vacation... because it is what is expected of us and it would seem weird if we didn't, and I'm already tired just thinking about all the planning and packing and unpacking and wash and the trip is still 6 months away. Nope, none of that. I mean really bought, got, or did something because you just wanted to? Because it would make you feel better. Because it would make you smile. Because... well you wanted it. Today is about #self #takecareofyourself #lookoutforyourself #lookwithin #findinnerpeace #bothinsideandout look within. Are you being open minded, embracing others? Or are you going along with the herd mentality? It's always monkey see monkey do, humans have always formed tribes and followed a leader. But at what cost to your own right and thoughts? Think for yourself, stand on your own two feet. Be innovative and original. It does not serve to believe what others tell you to believe unless you truly do believe as they do and share the same values. If you want to belong, do not change to fit the mould. Be who you are, respect who you are. You will draw to you those who are similar, those who will respect who you are and whom you'll also respect. Because like you, other free thinking, independent people are on their own path. Are you at risk of losing your sense of self and independence? Particularly entering into a romantic relationship? Being that romantic love is not the only love in this world, family, friends, companions and nature. Don't be drawn into any quarrels between two you are connected to, it will not serve you well. If you find yourself in such a situation. Remain nonjudgemental, compassionate and loving to both. Balance and realignment are needed here. It is time to find your center and vanish the illusion of separation. You are a spiritual being, which doesn't require you to pray or to practice any specific doctrine or observe any specific tradition. Spirituality is about the connection of all things. Every rock and tree and creature has/had a life, a spirit and a name. All are connected by energy. It isn't about believing in something bigger than you. Knowing you are a tiny blip on the mind map of the universe. But also just as important. "As above, so below. As within, so without. As the universe, so the soul." And my favourite addition, "as the tallest sycamore, so the smallest sapling." The material and immaterial world are not seperate but live in tandem, we exist in the material but that doesn't mean the immaterial isn't there. It is important to address seeing them as being part of a singular whole.
