I feel "To Gaze Upon The Wicked Gods" sounds like a really ridiculous book from what I've heard because it's a fantasy allegory for World War II in Asia but with the Roman Empire instead of Japan colonizing China because the author was scared to mention what Japan did at Unit 731.
Like the Roman Empire was a legit ancient colonizer and there is evidence for that, not as bad as other colonizers as those cultures can still keep their Gods and even exchange them from what I've heard, but still bad, but this book sounds legit ridiculous from what I've heard about in its premise and critical reviews.
The Roman empire didn't really even exist that much during World War II unless you believe they just rebranded as a Christian Church rather than be an official government for the most part(Or that Mussolini guy whose life turned upside down after the war! Bella Ciao! ).
