I wonder how many of my more recent followers realize that I was 18 when I joined tumblr, and that I joined in the pre-porn ban era because tumblr was such a porn friendly site

this blog has always been and will always be 18+ because I did not have a separate porn blog back then, it was all dic bobs and vegana out in the open, and I was very open about my own... sexual behaviour and occasionally I still will be

what people don’t understand about how adhd is disabling is that it’s not just getting temporarily distracted from, like, school work or hobbies. it’s getting distracted/being unable to motivate yourself to go to the doctor, eat regularly, do hygiene tasks, etc. it’s not knowing when or how long it will take you to do something, ANYTHING, and in many cases that thing is taking a shower or keeping your house from turning into a biohazard. it’s about being fundamentally incapable of controlling your attention and focus on anything, even and especially things you need to do to survive.

Not to hijack this post OP but in general this feels like a trend that is growing more and more common on the greater internet (and even outside it.) I see it as a king of the hill style competition where it can't be that multiple people suffer badly, but that one or two people have to suffer the worst. I've watched people become authoritarian and dare to suggest that people with experiences unlike their own couldn't be real because they're the one (in their mind) that is the worst case of something. They can't fathom someone not having all of the same issues, because to them (understandably, as we are internal and not gifted omnipotence) nobody else could begin to understand how they feel. As far as neurodivergency, I've been told I'm not neurodivergent by plenty of people, but more and more it's other neurodivergent people who don't know anything about me saying it. To your point, a lot of this happens on here. Concerningly though, it's leaving the site and happening even in real life and on other platforms too. I expect it from neurotypical people, especially in real life, but from strangers who I am working with and choose to try and relate to by mentioning tips I've picked up? By sharing that I take the same medicine as them? That I experience the same mind fog as them and that it's not something to be ashamed of? That's worrying.

I feel like I need to share this because idk if Europeans are familiar with the presence of Aldi in the US, but at least especially in my area they’ve been growing a lot recently. Like Aldi bought out some local failing grocery chains where I live (Louisiana) and have opened Aldis in all these somewhat rural communities and small towns, which for the record I’m fine with

But as a result of this they are advertising a lot more in my area and also in many cases, the people in these areas have never been confronted with Aldi or any European grocery store. So the ads that Aldi is pushing out to its new US customer base feature a cowboy shopping at Aldi who is explaining to new Aldi customers how Aldi works. Like this cowboy is explaining you gotta put a quarter in the shopping cart and why there are very little name brands. A cowboy is how they want to reach their American customer base.
