I just discover that the "nespolo" which is ubiquitous in Sicily (at least in the Palermo area), and its heavenly good fruit, are not, in fact, called medlar (which is the European "nespolo"), but LOQUAT, and they're Japanese!
Since they're my favourite fruit I thought it best to start calling it correctly 😅
So, if you saw me saying I love medlars, no I don't (know if I do)
I LOVE LOQUATS.
A LOT.
So far this is what I have learned from reading MDZS, which I'm sure everyone else already knows.
Lan Xichen is a hassler. He hassles. No end to the hassling, here, poor Lan Wangji, poor afflicted Lan Wangji, poor persecuted Lan Wangji, having such a brother.
Lord, the teasing. Like you expect it from Wei Wuxian but Lan Xichen? Never. And yet. It is constant and enduring.
Poor Lan Wangji getting it from all sides; like, won't these two just leave him alone??? WILL HE NEVER HAVE A MOMENT'S PEACE
sometimes the loquats in mdzs confuse me bc *i* grew up with a loquat tree basically in my backyard and they were delicious and we made jam out of them and all that great stuff but also like. these guys were consistently in the range of strawberry sized. but whenever i see wangxian loquat art they’re drawn as like the size of plums if not peaches?? are loquats just bigger over in china? were my loquats simply being stunted by the florida heat, unable to reach their true potential?? i do not know but i wish i did. wangxian teach me your ways; your loquats look delicious.
