Families: The Scamanders:
The Scamanders were a family whose primary concerns traditionally lie in the exploration of knowledge. In particular the knowledge of animals and their magical qualities. It has been said that Rolf Scamander was his grandfather, Newt’s, reincarnation and as such there was no surprise that he found himself quite taken by the curious little witch, Luna, on first meeting her. Nor surprisingly that the pair would go on to have many an adventure with one another over their many happy years of marriage (including the year when they were blessed with the birth of their two sons; Lorcan and Lysander).
Gallus, however, was not so Newt-like as his younger brother. He loved adventurer like the rest of his family, but more than anything he enjoyed the company of a good book. He was perhaps a new breed of Scamanders who questioned why the examination of an animal could not be done from the comfort of an armchair. With such homely ideals, it felt quite natural for him to get married at the age of nineteen to Beatrice Walker, a pretty muggleborn he’d gotten to know in his third year Herbology class, and even more of a great misfortune when after giving him three beautiful children; Othello, Tressell and Viola, Bea passed away quite suddenly.
"What’s wrong, Lils?"
"Just tired, that’s all."
