35. “I decided we’re past courtesy. I brought tacos and tequila.”

It’s not unusual for her to wake up on her couch after a night of drinking, but that doesn’t make it any less unpleasant.

There’s a dull pain in the back of her neck, her hands feel sticky - she doesn’t want to know why - and the smell of cigarette smoke, sweat and junk food still lingers on last night’s clothes that she hadn’t had the foresight to take off before passing out on her living room sofa.

Everything around her is fuzzy, and she has to blink once - twice - three times to focus her eyes, but she desperately wishes she hadn’t when she sees the state that her apartment is in.

Her ashtray is on the floor, together with all of its contents, as is an empty bottle of vodka that she’s fairly sure was half full when she went to sleep.

She’s too distracted by the pounding in her head to notice the pounding on her door before a blurry figure - she blinks two more times - her friend Milo stands in front of her.

“Wow, you look terrible.”

“Yeah, well I was fucking poisoned. And then we got drunk. What’s your excuse?” She tries to raise a single eyebrow but ends up grimacing instead.

“Hey, chill, I just meant that you look like you’re feeling awful.” Milo moves her legs to sit down next to her, and then allows them to fall into his lap.

“That’s because I am. I’ll kill you if you tell her I said this, but Edelie’s not exactly easy to keep up with.”

“You’re damn right I’m not.” As if on cue, her other friend - a surprisingly short blue-haired half Zeltron who should not be able to store as much alcohol in her body as she somehow manages to do on a regular basis - enters Tia’s living room.

“When did my apartment turn into a spaceport? Doesn’t anyone knock? Call ahead? Anything?”

“Yeah, so I’ve decided we’re past courtesy. I brought tacos and tequila. Are you still complaining?” Tia has to sit up to allow Edelie to join her and Milo on the couch.

“Now, if you’d opened with that I wouldn’t have started complaining in the first place. How do you have this much energy, by the way?”

“That’s a secret you’ll never know.” Edelie winks at her and she couldn’t keep herself from laughing if she tried.

She’ll never admit it, at least not out loud, but there’s something comforting about being surrounded by her found family while recovering from the poison and the ill-advised night of drinking. She bumps her shoulder against Edelie’s with a smile that’s much gentler than she’d like it to be.

“When we’re done eating, you really need a shower T. You smell like a Red Light sector cantina, and not in a good way.”

How I feel about this character

honestly? indifferent, these days. granted this is largely burnout from years of drama, but still.

lawful evil sws with a sense of personal boundaries. (yeah i guess technically also a certain dumbass neutral sw, but theirs is a not so great relationship)

My non-romantic OTP for this character

quinn/war crimes tribunal. quinn/deradicalisation.

My unpopular opinion about this character

his romance, taken on its own, is not that great, and can be played in a way which is super creepy on the sw’s part. the main thing it has going for it is the high octane drama fuel that is the quinncident, and that occurs and proceeds the same regardless of romantic attachments.

even his friendship path is um. yikes. you’re spending ten years of backpay on the player character for no reason? regardless of how poorly they treat you/other imperials? okay, quinny. have you considered the many benefits of therapy and also getting out of the empire.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

for bioware to not have modelled the aesthetics (visual and aural) of the empire on the ot’s empire, frustrating wehraboos and teaboos everywhere in the process.

1) Something this character is truly proud of.

How he comes to feel about the Mandalorians. He was 16 years old when he ran away from home to fight in the war, and was only 20 when he saw the war end at Malachor V. He saw firsthand a lot of the atrocities of war and what the enemy did, but despite that, decided that he didn’t want to hate them anymore. His time spent with Clan Ordo on Dxun helped him move past his former resentment, and he feels like the choice to see them as friends/try to understand them more is one of the kindest things he could do for himself.

9) What calms them when they are upset. 

His pet orobird, Daggers! Ruffling his feathers and petting him when he’s not in a good mood always cheers him up. Sparring with Brianna or Atton to relax also does the trick, or just listening to Mical talk about something he’s interested in.

12) How they sleep. 

Terran’s a very light sleeper thanks to those years in the military. Always on his back or his side, ready to spring into action if he senses something’s off. Years of drifting and not always having a roof over his head makes him pretty okay with sleeping outdoors, cuddled up against Daggers’ side.

17) What they’d sing at karaoke

Probably Danger Zone or Don’t Stop Believing, lol. If he’s able to take his guitar and play it while he’s singing, he’s absolutely going to do just that, and people usually enjoy it since he’s good at both. :’)
