Lore Journal 2: dude where’s my aisha

yknow i fuckin was waiting to talk abt this bc i had a very funny comic planned but seeing as how my guts are revolting and i cant sit for very long, i reckon now is a good time as any to talk about this
tldr: some pets just don’t exist in Nowhere naturally
this is primarily for Nowhere Legacy and Neopia Prime. essentially, i sat down and looked at all the neopets and went. hey. what if some of these are just fake? and i ran with it.
my favorite one is probably the Blumaroos, who are literally a mickey mouse equivalent. they eventually got rolled into propaganda stuff, my favorite being the Blumaroo-branded gas masks
above: a very old wip of a Junklander wearing a blumaroo mask
below: some propaganda posters featuring the Naturalist Blumaroo campaign, and the anti-war anti-roo posters
anyway. they have a very mystical nature to them. a lot of the species i ended up not bringing into Nowhere naturally are the really wild, really unique looking ones.
my next favorite was the Chia, who i eventually wrote into the Nowhere timeline as just being. a sentient fungus hivemind that erases the identities of the bodies they take over, turning them into Chia. it’s weird. im sorry. forgive me.
“don’t worry it doesn’t hurt” - Epoch, before getting someone to submit to the hivemind.
before i remember i wrote there being only one Chia colony, situated in an abandoned college campus. it had a humor about it, calling it’s assimulants “The Student Body”. i’m not sure if i wanna retcon this or not yet, since it’s all situated up north in Decadia, well outside of Nowhere’s range. but it’s fun to think about and draw!!
ofc there’s also my Aisha, who, like, are weird for their own reasons. essentially, the Aisha i have are from one specific timeline, where they were dumped on a Shit Ass Earth, as an effort to quarantine them for Unknown Reasons. they moved underground, again, for unknown reasons, and their society developed from there. after centuries of living underground, they turned to the stars, and a very rudimentary space program began, until the discovery of the Rift.
when it was discovered that they could use their advanced technology to literally rend the fabric of space apart, so much so that they could travel between it, the idea of traveling into space seemed. silly, yknow? anyway, Aishas spread into other timelines from this specific timeline. eventually, generations of Aishas grew up not knowing their innerspace origins. Nowhere was devoid of them for the longest time, until some started falling out of the Rift from colonized timelines.
i really could talk about them more but . body is fighting me. i’ll DEFINITELY post about them more later because i fucking LOVE their society so much, it was so much fun designing underground buildings n shit.
