Uruguay 36 - 26 Namibia
The Welwitschias’ only hope of an RWC victory ended with them narrowly missing out on a losing bonus point.
With another red card holding them back - this time in the last ten minutes, however - the Namibians were determined but ultimately came up short, meanwhile Uruguay ground out a messy victory.
Their last match will be against New Zealand next week, while Namibia’s RWC campaign has come to a close. They’ll be able to hold their heads high with two of the four results, despite earning 0 table points. Uruguay, with their respectable results against France and Namibia, likely won’t achieve much against the All Blacks, but god dammit they’ll try.

Mentre tutti gli occhi sono puntati sul Nations Championship delle big, c'è un'altra rivoluzione silenziosa (ma mica tanto) che sta per accendere i campi di tutto il mondo. Nasce ufficialmente la World Rugby Nations Cup.
Non chiamatelo "torneo di seconda fascia". Questo è il palcoscenico dove il cuore del rugby globale batte più forte, unendo 12 nazioni pronte a darsi battaglia nelle finestre di luglio e novembre.
🌍 La Struttura dei due Gironi (Pools)
Il torneo si divide in due grandi blocchi geografici, accendendo rivalità pazzesche:
Pool A (America-Pacific): Canada, Cile, Samoa, Tonga, Uruguay e USA.
Pool B (Europe-Africa-Asia): Georgia, Hong Kong Cina, Portogallo, Romania, Spagna e Zimbabwe.
⚖️ Come funziona?
Niente calcoli astrusi: il sistema di punteggio in classifica (vittorie, pareggi, bonus mete e bonus difensivo) è identico a quello del Nations Championship.
La differenza? Qui non avremo un weekend di finali incrociate; chi fa più punti nel proprio girone solleva la coppa. È una corsa di resistenza pura, partita dopo partita.
🚀 Perché è una svolta storica?
Certezza del Calendario: Per la prima volta le cosiddette Performance Unions (i Tier 2) hanno un programma di test match garantito, stabile e di altissimo livello commerciale e sportivo.
La rampa di lancio perfetta: Sarà il terreno di prova definitivo per prepararsi alla Rugby World Cup 2027 in Australia, espansa a 24 squadre.

New Zealand 73 - 0 Uruguay
Los Teros might’ve been hoping for a better display after they troubled the team that beat New Zealand a few week back.
But after a 26-0 halftime lead, the All Blacks turned up the heat and piled on 47 more points, reaching Uruguay a rugby lesson. Whether this is wounded All Blacks proving a point, or them back to the full compliment after the return of a few key players, no one knows, but either way New Zealand are qualified for the quarterfinals now, and Uruguay are going home.
If Italy can upset France tomorrow, the All Blacks will even finish top of the pool, but as it stands they’ll probably remain in second place, to face off against the winner of pool A.
It was another dominant display against Uruguay, but do New Zealand have it in them to win another World Cup after a decidedly lukewarm set of results this year? Only time will tell.
