it's unusual for her mimikyu to wander away from its trainer. it was following eris around one second and then gone the next. how strange...

but mimikyu didn't wander too far away. it only takes eris a few minutes of looking to spot her beloved pokemon interacting with another girl.

"she must like you." eris speaks as she appears behind her pokemon, scooping it up into her arms. voice unusually soft for someone who looks a bit unsettling.

"usually she's very shy. i... hope she didn't cause you too much trouble."

"Oh! It was the 18th of November."

And it was awful. She fainted and everything. She hated it.

Old magick regards old magick with a sense of curious delight. The scent is in her nose, now, and her eyes widen, glimmer their forest shade in her sudden excitement. The beat of the little god’s HEART quickens only just and her palms, gloved, itch with the desire to touch as a means of learning, but there is space to be respected--

Space that she, herself, is not ultimately talented at respecting. A head ducks LOW and she may as well be an animal-- ah, but she is, the rigid, broad, huge tense of shoulders and enormously woven muscle. Vibrant, vivacious, vivid eagerness glints in her posture as it straightens, no longer the eager pup sniffing, hands pressed into the pockets of dark, TIGHT jeans. The word WITCH is scratched across her left forearm, half readable, derogatorily scrawled in pearlescent, rubbery scar tissue.

Lips break into a WIDE GRIN, sharp, kittenish teeth not the namesake of who she is, but there all the same. Eyebrows raise.

“Who are ya?”

"Yes I did!!"

Oh man. She's not hugging the other girl immediately only because she's still not sure if it would've been appreciated or not.

"I thought you- you blew up!!"

the question is enough that the gym leader pauses, only to sharply turn & look upon the student / enough so that they need to steady themselves with a hand against the reception counter. their expression says all of their surprise, and its distinct existence alongside what can only be called incredulity. only recently had they been informed cetitan's appearance was 'scary' to another individual... and now this, in quick succession? did she think that, too?

... that actually feel a flicker of hurt on behalf of their partner.

"of course he is," the sharpness of the answer isn't anticipated until they hear it with their own ears. grusha appears to stiffen slightly, as though taken aback by their own defensiveness. a hand's lifted in conjunction with a bow of their head in silent apology, "he's a gentle giant." they murmur defense of the terra whale, and reach into their pocket to withdraw the luxury ball he sat within. heterochrome lowers to peer within the dark top & down at the miniaturized pokemon.

"cetitan is one of the friendliest pokemon on my team," which was saying a lot, "...people usually don't give him a chance, though." the ball's lifted, drawn against their coat overtop their heart, "are you asking 'cause you want to meet him?"

"Because it is." Blunt response as ever, but there wasn't really any way to put it other than that way. "If it wasn't, then it'd have no meaning, no weight, no value... Empty titles are quite borin'. And no one respects them, I know I certainly don't. But don't take that as me suggestin' I'd be disappointed if 'ye didn't do it. Knowin' when somethin' ain't 'fer 'ye is as respectable as any title. Pick only the fights you know you will win an' all that."
